GH Spoilers: Will Krista Allen Replace Vanessa Marcil As Brenda Barrett?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate that fans have certainly become alert since Krista Allen announced that she has been let go from The Bold and The Beautiful as Taylor Hayes.

However, Bold’s loss could become GH’s gain if they were to scoop Krista up as a recast Brenda Barrett.

Of course, Brenda hasn’t been seen onscreen for a while, could she come back into Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) life and give Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) some competition?

General Hospital Spoilers reveal that Krista plans to move to Atlanta, GA. However, Krista could always commute back and forth to work. Other actors have done that for years.

Allen is a very good actress, should GH scoop her up for a new character or maybe even a character that hasn’t been seen for a while?

Allen has plenty of fans from the days when she played Billy Reed on Days of Our Lives between 1996 and 1999. Krista also picked up quite a few fans after taking over as Taylor as well.

Obviously playing Brenda would not be Krista’s first recast. GH could certainly benefit from bringing Allen over as a recast as well.

GH Spoilers – Vanessa Marcil Posted About Declining The Role

In May, Vanessa took to TikTok and posted about declining an offer to return to the role of Brenda Barrett.

The last time Marcil was on GH as Brenda was during the Balkin storyline when Brenda and Sonny got married and she ended up leaving town because Sonny wouldn’t give the business to Jason Morgan (ex-Steve Burton).

Apparently, Marcil also gave her blessing for a recast to be hired to take over the role as well. Considering this, hiring a recast could very well be worth considering.

If things fall apart with Sonny and Nina, Brenda could always be there to pick up the pieces, at least before she tucks her tail and runs like the wind once again.

Some fans consider Brenda to be Sonny’s true love. However, it has never seemed to work out so well for Sonny and Brenda. Every time these two think they have it right something goes wrong once again.

Brenda could certainly cause a lot of chaos in Port Charles if she did come back. Carly cannot stand her. How would Nina feel about one of Sonny’s old flames suddenly showing up in town?

Would you be open to a recast of Brenda? Is Brenda even needed in Port Charles anymore? Some fans feel that Sonny is much better off without her.
