However, Ned’s mother, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot), may not be happy with this arrangement. Tracy has always been fiercely protective of the family’s interests and may have her own plans for the shares. Besides, Olivia isn’t a real Quartermaine as far as Tracy is concerned.

In recent years, Ned has made an unlikely ally in Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), the newest shareholder at ELQ. Few among the Q clan are likely to think Valentin should have any say in the matter, but the truth is, Valentin is the only one of them who has been on Ned’s side in recent years. Tracy might be willing to recognize that, but it remains to be seen where Olivia will stand on the matter. Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) could be the tiebreaker in any dispute, and she might welcome a reasonable approach from a businessman like Valentin who has his mind only on the company and not on Ned’s well-being. Besides, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and the rest of the family haven’t exactly been in Ned’s corner lately.

Speaking of the rest of the family…Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) is another key player in the ELQ saga. His presence in the mix adds another layer of complexity to the already tangled web of family dynamics and corporate power plays though. Should Drew or anyone else decide to stake any claim to Ned’s shares, Tracy is certain to make sure they are met with formidable opposition.
