GH Spoilers: Where’s The Spinelli & Maxie Reboot We’ve Been Itching For?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Damien Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) is head over heels in love with Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) – and she is completely oblivious to it. These two have been dancing around one another for years, and while Spinelli has always carried something of a torch for Maxie, she rarely returned his affections. Even in the beginning when they conceived their child — Georgie Spinelli (Lily Fisher) — Maxie saw Spinelli as a friend who she turned to for comfort one night.

She tried to make their relationship work out of guilt and appreciation, knowing that he truly loved her, but she just couldn’t manifest some faux chemistry that didn’t exist between them. Is it possible that the tables have turned? While Spinelli is still trying to keep his feelings for Maxie at bay, are her feelings for him growing? We sure hope so!

General Hospital Spoilers — Let’s Go Back To Christmas Time

Going back in time, we saw Spinelli divulge to Ellie Trout (Emily Wilson) last Christmas that he is in love with Maxi once again. She could read it all over his face. Fortunately, he and Ellie had already broken up and moved on from one another.

Spinelli wanted to be back in Port Charles, and she wanted to stay in Portland. There was no way the relationship was going to work. He was kind enough to bring Georgie out to Oregon to spend Christmas with Ellie.

Maxie was supposed to head that way as well so they could all celebrate as one big happy family. But a snowstorm threatened those plans and it led to Maxie and Spinelli hopping from airport to airport — and even chartering a private plane – just to end up at the same location for Christmas.

It was a perfect ending to the holiday for this would-be couple. But then everything came to a halt.

We know Spinelli is still in love with his Maxonista. Is there any point at which this tech nerd will come out from behind the screens and tell her how he feels?

It’s been six months since he first blurted out his feelings for her to Ellie, and viewers have been left hanging ever since wondering when this romance might pick back up. Just how much time does Maxie need to heal from her last relationship – which hardly qualified as one?

Maxie’s relationship with Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) might have been lacking in every department, but she still had her hopes up. She still wondered if he was going to be the man she spent her life with.

She still went back and forth, questioning whether she was ready to date him. She still spent plenty of late nights trying to make the relationship work when it just didn’t feel right. It took him doing something colossally wrong for her to see the error of her ways.

Perhaps Maxie doesn’t trust her barometer on men now. Maybe she thinks she only picks the wrong men. If she is feeling anything for Spinelli, she could be telling herself that it’s not right to lean on him just because she’s lonely. She did that before.
