At Curtis Ashford’s (Donnell Turner) birthday party, Portia shares her hopes and dreams as she asks him if there’s still hope for them to become a real family.
Curtis looks like he doesn’t quite know how to answer her, because she knew from the get-go when he moved in it was a wait-and-see situation, sleeping in the guest room. The party is being held at the Metro Court pool, and Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) and Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) are also there, with Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) arriving last.
Trina will have a special gift for Curtis, a homemade photo frame, noting he’d never had the experience. In response, he pulls out his phone and takes a selfie of them together, obviously intended from the frame.
Meanwhile, downstairs at the Metro Court bar, Taggert endures devastation and heartache as Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) finds him drunk at the bar and asks her to have a drink. She takes him upstairs to a suite where he pours his heart out about how his whole life was a lie because he based so much of it on Trina. He talks about how he saw his sister’s laugh, things that reminded him of his relatives only to realize none of Trina came from his blood. Jordan tells him what he needs isn’t found in a bottle.
Stella is still a little insecure about her relationship with her nephew, knowing how badly she let him down when she feigned illness to get out of officiating his wedding. She couldn’t go through with it knowing there were questions about Trina’s paternity, and Portia failed to disclose them, Trina figuring it out for herself because of genealogy records. Stella has apologized, but understandably, still feels guilty over her actions.
Stella reacts to something or someone, asking if it was something she said, looking disturbed. It might take a while for Stella to get over that unfortunate experience.
Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) is nervous over the schemes she’s been pulling behind Sasha Gilmore’s (Sofia Mattsson) back. She’s started dipping into Sasha’s money as her financial guardian so of course she doesn’t want her to terminate her guardianship. Sasha is emotional as well as she tells her she’s starting to feel like she doesn’t believe in her. With Selina Wu’s (Lydia Look) soon return to Port Charles, Gladys is rapidly running out of time to settle her gambling debts.
Elsewhere, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) delivers updates by phone, he will also be in the Metro Court with Zeke Robinson (Gavin Houston) when Jordan gives a friendly assist to Taggert. It’s probably Zeke that Drew is calling, as he tells him he’s taking the future into his hands. Later, Drew will also update Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) about his plans.
Drew had considered turning himself in on the SEC charges for insider trading to protect Carly and her family. It sounds like that’s still the plan, since his threats to Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) obviously didn’t work.
Back at General Hospital near Ned Quartermaine’s (Wally Kurth) room in the ICU, Olivia has been crying and praying and clutching her rosary. She’s had a crisis of faith as Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and Carly try to comfort her, Carly bearing gifts of coffee, or perhaps tea. It’s been too long without an update on Ned, and Olivia frets that means it’s bad news. Finally TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) finally emerges from Ned’s room, saying they have some news on her husband.
