On stage, prior to the Nurses’ Ball performances starting, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman) are dressed to the nines. Maxie announces that this year, they’re taking things up a notch. This is the first Nurses’ Ball without Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) much to Lucy’s consternation, but Maxie and Bobbie plan to do it up right!
Soon the performers will be ready to perform and more announcements will be forthcoming. Meanwhile, one particular performer is in her dressing room with a guest who shouldn’t be there.
Brook Lynn is irate when she comes into Blaze’s (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) dressing room as she’s getting ready for her performance with Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard). Brook Lynn demands to know “what the hell is he doing in here” and that has to be Linc Brown (Dan Buran) the predatory manager getting a sneaky peek! Blaze has been too afraid of losing her career to admit to anyone what’s been going on, and Brook Lynn may regret signing that non-disclosure agreement. Linc’s sneaky peeks, salacious grabs and sleazy casting couch tactics have simply got to come to an end!
At a table in the Metro Court, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) smiles as her plus one and buddy Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) suggests they make a deal. He just had an awkward moment seeing both his ex-wife, Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) and current wife he’s estranged from, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) together. Meanwhile, Nina had to endure some nosy questions from Sydney Val Jean (Chandra Wilson) as to why she wasn’t with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
It sounds like it’s a “no comment” day all around and maybe the deal he’s suggesting is to go in a room and watch live on TV! At least that way they’ll see the action without having to be stared at.
Meanwhile, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) and Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) have an important conversation. Spencer tells Trina he should have passed on that, and she asks him why he didn’t. The topic of discussion between Spencer and Trina might be his asking Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) to help him “do something” about Esmé Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl). That is, if Spencer admits his plans to Trina at all-Spencer has definitely had his misgivings.
Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) has been noticing Gladys Corbin’s (Bonnie Burroughs) activities at Selina Wu’s (Lydia Look) high stakes poker games. At the same time, Cody has taken a liking to Sasha Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) and she a liking to him. So far he’s been quiet and not told Sasha about what he knows, but now he’s changing his tune.
He tells Gladys he’ll keep quiet if she tells Sasha the truth about her gambling problems and selling Brando Corbin’s (Johnny Wactor) garage to pay off her gambling debts. Otherwise, it’ll be a deal breaker!
At the safe house, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) will make a romantic gesture, but Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) will be alarmed. They both hear noise in Lucy’s room and see her dressed in a ball gown and drinking champagne with the Nurses’ Ball on tv. She rants that the ball is about to begin, and Anna’s sure they’ll have to tie her to a chair to keep her from breaking out again! Because of Lucy’s “little field trips” they’re all in danger – Victor knows where the safe house is and will soon show up!
At the ball, Elizabeth stands in front of a large screen photo of Epiphany Johnson (Sonya Eddy) and announces a special remembrance. She says this year’s ball is dedicated to Epiphany, who had she still been with us would have been a major part. Elizabeth was relieved to find out that Epiphany wasn’t angry at her prior to her death, her heart giving out while helping a car crash victim.
She even recommended her to be the new head nurse to Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson). She’ll recommend Elizabeth to the board.
