GH Spoilers: Valentin Sets Stage For Takedown, Michael Cleans House

General Hospital spoilers reveal Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is not the man he once was. Some fans are blaming Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) for that, saying she has softened the don and made him two weak for the mob. But the reality is, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) has every right to be concerned about her ex-husband. He’s losing steam and losing his edge. When Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) approached Sonny about the Pikeman Group, Sonny may not have fully vetted the defense contractor the way he would have in the past. Did he give Valentin too much leeway, taking into consideration his relationship with Nina? Doubtful.

But something went amiss. Now, General Hospital spoilers show Sonny is slated to take the fall for moving weapons through his territory, and while it may look like Valentin set these wheels in motion, it is Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) who propelled the plan all along.

General Hospital Spoilers — Valentin Cassadine Suggested Pikeman on Purpose

When Valentin proposed the Pikeman deal to Sonny, it seemed like a minor business transaction. We’re not sure what was in it for Valentin, and it doesn’t seem like Sonny considered that either. Does the reformed Cassadine really do favors for free? Not usually. But maybe this favor was for Pikeman. For all Sonny knows, Valentin may have benefited on that end for arranging this business deal for them. But Sonny also doesn’t know that iit was Michael who was working with Valentin to put this deal in place, but why?

GH Spoilers – Tease Sonny Corinthos Took The Bait

Michael needed to find his father in a precarious position that would allow him to take the fall for a massive federal crime. Sure, he could have collected all the dirt on his father in the long game – much as Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) has been — but he needed the reassurance that Sonny wasn’t going to weasel out of his crimes this time. Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) is a darn good attorney after all.

So maybe this was Michael’s Plan B: setting the stage for Sonny to get himself into some serious business with the Pikeman Group in hopes that he would incriminate himself beyond the lengths to which Diane’s magic wand extends to get him out of it.

General Hospital Spoilers — Michael Corinthos Isn’t Here To Protect His Dad

Carly might think Michael is working to protect his father, but the truth is far from that rosy picture. He is still as angry as ever, and he wants to see his father pay for what he did to their family. Dex, a genuine, right-hand and possibly the next Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), truly believes he’s working for the good side now. He wants to save Sonny’s life, and make sure his business enterprise stays afloat.

But Michael still doesn’t believe his mother. He doesn’t think the business is at risk, and he doesn’t think the family is in danger if the business falters. Is it all slated to blow up in Michael’s face? If it does, who amongst his family members will have to pay for his sloppy mistakes? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
