Likewise, she does love Curtis, but she is only prepared to welcome him on board as her stepdad, not as her blood. Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) might want to wipe away Trina’s tears and make it all better, but she’s the last person who can do that right now. That doesn’t mean Trina doesn’t have someone in her corner to help mend her heart though.
The last time Portia saw her daughter, Trina wanted nothing to do with her. She couldn’t stomach hearing the story all over again of what Portia had done, and she left her to explain her deception to her new husband, Curtis. They definitely had plenty to discuss, and Trina knew there was nothing else her mother could say to her at that moment that would make any of it hurt less or bring any sort of resolution to the table. This was going to take time, and it’s anyone’s guess how long it takes to heal a wound nearly two decades in the making. When Portia tries to reach out to Trina again to smooth things over and reach a common ground, she’s going to get dismissed.
When Trina ran out of her mother’s hotel room at the Metro Court, Marcus — the only father she has ever known — ran after her. Their short lived discussion that followed seemed to patch Trina up enough for her to know that hotel was the last place she wanted to be any longer. Lurking around in a gown fit for a maid of honor and standing in the afterglow of her mom’s special day just isn’t what Trina needed any longer. When she got the opportunity to get away and find some space outside of her family, she took it.
Truth be told, there is no one more suited for talking Trina through this experience than Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez). Trina’s mother has just betrayed her in one of the most unfathomable ways possible. Spencer knows a thing or two about disappointing parents.
HIs father, Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss), has done nothing but disappoint him over the course of his young life, and now he’s gone. Will Spencer feel any remorse about not getting to a better place with his dad before he left town? Will he encourage Trina to make amends with her mom and forgive her, or will he give her the space she needs right now to sit with her anger and heartbreak — putting the decision about what to do with her relationship with Portia off until another day?
