General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) is known for her ruthlessness and calculating nature, and she is about to face the consequences of her actions when her son, Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth), learns what she was up to while he was unconscious and hanging on for dear life following his fall at the Metro Court pool.

This shocking revelation will undoubtedly strain their relationship and leave Tracy with a lot to atone for. Instead of hovering over her son and ensuring the EMTs were doing everything in their power for him, Tracy saw an opportunity to further her own agenda.

Her focus was almost entirely on Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), despite knowing her son could have been laying there dying. Tracy might be home to clean up loose ends and deal with the family business, but it seems she’s overly concerned with business and has forgotten all about the family component.

Of course, she’s going to bide her time while Ned is struggling with the results of a traumatic brain injury and believes he is Eddie Maine, but Tracy trusts her son isn’t gone forever, and he’ll soon call her to task.

Tracy’s motive for targeting Drew is not entirely clear, but it’s speculated that she was trying to remove him from the picture to achieve her own goals with ELQ. Just the same, she is targeting others who hold shares in the family business, including Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring).

Tracy wants this business back in Quartermaine hands without any influence from outsiders or Aurora Media’s Sticky fingers. Ned is grappling with a unique challenge of his own. Following the accident, he is convinced that he is his former rockstar alter ego, Eddie Maine.

This has left Ned disconnected from his true self and unaware of the extent of Tracy’s betrayal. Tracy, never a fan of Ned’s rockstar phase, is less than thrilled with his newfound identity, but that doesn’t mean she won’t use it to her advantage for the time being.

The question on everyone’s mind is how long Ned’s delusion will last. Will he eventually come to his senses and realize that he is, in fact, Ned Quartermaine — and that Nina is the real rat who tipped off the SEC?

As news of Tracy’s deception spreads within the Quartermaine family, tensions will undoubtedly rise. While Tracy may have been hoping to avoid accountability for her behavior, it is clear that the rest of the family will have something to say about it.

She might be cool with waiting this out and embracing Eddie as her son if it means not having to deal with Ned’s cold shoulder, but that doesn’t mean she won’t deal with someone else’s wrath.

Quartermaine Sure Do Care

Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) and Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) won’t take kindly to Tracy acting like Ned’s deep dive into another identity is no big deal. They want their husband and father back and can’t fathom why Tracy isn’t more concerned about her son’s well-being.

This could cause them both to reflect upon things from the start of Ned’s fall and how disconnected Tracy already was then — caring more about pinning a fake crime on Drew than tending to Ned’s emergent needs.
