As every Quartermaine knows, ELQ comes first. Without a thriving business, the family’s wealth and influence would crumble. Believing its fate was hanging in the balance, Tracy flew home from Europe to piece things back together in the boardroom — and outside of it. The family has come too close to losing the company over the last couple of years and Tracy believes she can ensure that’ll never happen again, with a few safeguards put in place, courtesy of her, of course.
In recent years on General Hospital, Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) has formed an alliance with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), much to his mother’s dismay. When everyone thought Valentin was dead as he hid out in a local safehouse courtesy of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) made a play for the ELQ shares Valentin left behind to his daughter, Charlotte Cassadine (AnaSofia Bianchi). Laura Collins (Genie Francis) wasn’t willing to part with them on her granddaughter’s behalf, and that gave Tracy some serious pause.
She’s not planning to take Valentin out anytime soon, but that incident served as proof that someone who isn’t a Quartermaine doesn’t really hold the Quartermaine family business of importance above all else. In other words, Valentin doesn’t belong — and Tracy usually gets what she wants.
Tracy’s interest in Deception, a cosmetics company, adds another layer to the intrigue. Could her focus on the beauty company be a means to target its founder, Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring)? Tracy’s cunning nature knows no bounds, and she is always on the lookout for an advantage. By leveraging Lucy’s own company against her and threatening to tank it, Tracy may be able to swindle that 1% share away from the real estate agent turned cosmetics queen.
Tracy, the formidable matriarch of the family (says she), has always been a force to be reckoned with. It took mere moments after the EMTs were working on Ned for Tracy to start spinning stories about Drew attacking him — which never happened. Even with her son’s life hanging by a potential threat, Tracy was focused on bending the situation in her favor by trying to throw Drew behind bars.
Of course, she’s already been up to no good as many fans suspect she is actually the person who tipped the SEC off about Drew and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright). If Drew goes to prison, his shares could land back in Quartermaine family control. It’s just like Tracy to never miss an opportunity to advance her agenda.
