Portia is happy as she praises Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) about something completed as they sit at the coffeehouse, smiling as she tells him that was a major accomplishment. Obviously neither of them know that Esmé Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) has turned up and the Hook has taken another victim. It’s likely she’s talking about something else, possibly the planning of their upcoming wedding.
They’ve decided on Valentine’s Day as the date, and Portia will be busy planning. Could anything happen to interrupt it-as long as it’s not on the Haunted Star, it should be okay.
It’s obvious that the tragic news of Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) death from a scratch from the Hook’s weapon hasn’t gotten to Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner). Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) hasn’t heard either, as Felicia makes a suggestion. They may be talking about his recent breakup with Britt, although it’s doubtful he’d confide anything like that to Felicia. However, she makes a suggestion and tells him whatever he decides, to do it now because “you never know what”. It’s very true one never knows what’s around the next corner in life.
Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) seems to have gotten herself together a little bit more after Britta literally died in her arms. Austin is sad and serious as they both are, and Liesl asks him about Britt’s last plans, wanting to know what changed her mind. Austin knew that Britt was intending to leave Port Charles so that she’d be away from loved ones when she started to deteriorate and eventually succumb to Huntington’s Disease.
Austin had tried to change her mind before she left The Haunted Star to meet her boat and what she thought would be her destiny. However, he couldn’t have stopped what happened down on the docks any more than Liesl could have.
The tragic news spreads as Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) gathers Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) in a Metro Court suite, possibly Britt’s. She tells Brad and Maxie, who look confused, that she knows something that they two don’t. Scott Baldwin, (Kin Shriner) after rushing to General Hospital to find out what happened from Liesl, had called Nina and told her he had some very bad news. Britt’s closest friends and cousin Nina will band together in grief to support Liesl, there is no doubt about that.
At GH, Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) looks angry as he takes on a new client, and with an accusatory tone says “it was you, wasn’t it!” There’s a possibility he’s talking to Heather Webber (Alley Mills) who may have gone to get her gunshot wound treated. But, he could also be talking to Esmé Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) who will be in need of a lawyer soon – if she only stops lying and faking amnesia.
Esmé has been the prime suspect in the Hook attacks, although of course now we know it’s been her birth mother Heather, at least this time. That’s going to be difficult to get out of although Heather did wear gloves when she attacked Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Britt got hooked.
Elisabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) has sought Dr. Kevin Collins’ (Jon Lindstrom) assistance in Esmé’ supposed amnesia and it’s obvious he’s checked her out. He tells Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) “about Esmé’s memory” which more than likely she’s faking. However, she did study quite a bit of psychology and had tried to get Kevin to sponsor her to use Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) as a subject for her case study. If Ryan can fool Kevin with “locked-in syndrome” for over two years, maybe Kevin’s niece has inherited that ability too.
Heather is at Spring Ridge where she defends her actions to Ryan, who obviously thinks she’s even more nuts than she really is! It’s difficult whether he’s talking about her or himself when he thinks her suggestion about confessing so their daughter can go free is ridiculous. He can’t believe what’s coming out of Heather’s mouth, but as previously stated, it’s not sure if she’s suggesting she confesses or he confesses.
More than likely, she’s talking about herself and she was copycatting the real Hook to get the heat off Esmé. It’s been very publicized that Esmé has been the person of interest and the Hook was identified as a female by Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy).
It seems like the quickest recovery from amnesia in history has occurred in Esmé’s room, as she tells someone she knows who they are. That could be Kevin, or Nikolas Cassadine, (Marcus Coloma) or maybe even Heather, back at the hospital. It could also be Elizabeth, since Esmé knows she can’t get anything past her. It was a good try, but it’s obvious she’s lying about her amnesia just as Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) has been saying.
