Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is sick and tired of the fighting in this family keeping everyone pulled apart. He wants his family to heal, and soon, he’ll struggle to see how it’s possible if Carly and Nina don’t lay down their arms.
Nina isn’t really wrong to hate Carly as much as she does. It seems like Carly is always meddling, always lying, and always manipulating. Yet, no one ever holds her accountable for the things she does. The people who love her love all of her faults and accept her even if she harms them and the other people they care for.
Carly didn’t hesitate to keep it a secret when she found out Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) was Nina’s daughter, and she also didn’t think twice about pulling Jasper Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) into the fold when he was involved with Nina at the time.
Then, when Carly found out Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) was Nelle’s twin — she kept that from Nina, too, and convinced herself she was doing the right thing for everyone involved without consulting them.
Of course, Nina is far from perfect. She retaliated against Carly when she found out Sonny was alive and suffering from memory loss in a bar in Nixon Falls.
Instead of running back to Port Charles to tell Carly and his children that he was alive and mostly well, she kept it to herself and befriended Sonny as though she had no idea who he was. Perhaps Nina was retaliating for the grief Carly put her through by hiding the truth about Nelle and encouraging Willow and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) to keep Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) away from her.
Perhaps Carly was retaliating when she hid the truth about Willow. Does determining who started it matter nearly as much as whether or not these two are willing to end it?
Nina and Carly won’t stop combating one another until one of them decides they have lost enough. Until they come to the realization that it isn’t worth it to continue with this war and risk losing anything else, they will continue to pay dearly on both sides.
Carly has lost her marriage with Sonny to Nina’s ploy. Nina should feel like she’s won on that front, but she knows in her heart that she will never be Carly in Sonny’s eyes and he’ll never part ways with his ex entirely. Nina will never share the bond of a child with Sonny either, and it pains her every day.
Now, Nina is struggling to put her own vendetta aside as she longs for justice that will make Carly pay for keeping the truth about her connection to Willow to herself. Will it ever end? Probably, but Nina isn’t likely to keep Sonny when it does. Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out how this pans out.
