GH Spoilers: Takedown Team’s Quandary-Can Victor Be Taken Down Without Collateral Damage?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers and updates tease that the Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) takedown team’s in a quandary. Can Victor be taken down without collateral damage?

General Hospital Spoilers – Rescue Mission Yes, But Takedown A Goal

When Valentin Cassadine, (James Patrick Stuart) Curtis Ashford, (Donnell Turner) Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and Laura Collins (Genie Francis) set out, it’s a rescue mission primarily. But even though Valentin in particular is reminded that this is no time for personal vendettas, in the back of their minds takedown is still a goal. Drew’s there to retrieve Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati), Curtis, Trina Robinson, (Tabyana Ali) and Laura, Spencer and Ace Prince-Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez, Joey and Jay Clay); Valentin to assist as Victor’s son.

Victor will stop at nothing to carry out his deadly, although in his mind, altruistic goal of wiping out eighty percent of the population through releasing a pathogen. He knew Mikkos Cassadine (John Colicos) had stored it in the bunker, which he needed to find and now he’s found it-it was his reason for looking for the Ice Princess.

GH Spoilers – This Has Been Why Victor Cassadine Kidnapped Drew Cain

Now the picture truly comes together as to why Victor kidnapped Drew and also tried to use Peter August (Wes Ramsey) to tap the knowledge Drew had in his head. He thought Drew would remember the location of the research facility associated with Project Demeter, knowing that was close to where Mikkos’ bunker was, but it didn’t work. Peter was killed without fulfilling what Victor wanted him to do, possibly suspecting Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) stole the necklace made from the Ice Princess diamonds and Peter had it. Victor’s trying to get Liesl to develop either a vaccine or an antidote for the pathogen, an engineered virus to keep those he deems worthy safe, since the pathogen’s airborne. Meanwhile, Drew and the rest have arrived topside on the island and are working on finding and breaching the compound when Valentin makes a mistake-dropping his satellite phone in the snow.

General Hospital Spoilers – Valentin Cassadine Makes A Risky Move

With Victor’s henchmen hearing Valentin’s phone ring and Laura, Drew and Curtis behind a boulder, Valentin makes a risky move and surrenders-knowing they won’t kill the boss’s son. Laura decides they’ll give Victor what he wants and tells Drew, and Valentin’s their way into the bunker. Once inside the bunker, they learn more about Victor’s insane plan, and from Drew’s standpoint, he’s not only there to rescue hostages but take Victor down.

He has to find a way to make sure the hostages arrive back to Port Charles safely and not become collateral damage, as well as himself and his teammates. He’s determined to take Victor down without releasing the deadly pathogen, but how is he going to do it?
