GH Spoilers: Spencer Comes To See Esme As a Victim Of His Father — Will Trina Agree?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) is thinking about what his next move should be. When he linked up with Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) in hopes of faking a relationship that would lure The Hook out into plain sight, he was assuming The Hook was Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl). Now that he knows differently, he’s not sure his attachment to Trina will provoke whoever is behind the hook in the same way.

Still, it’s clear The Hook has it in for anyone who is close to Trina; just look at where it got Rory Cabrera (Michael Blake Kruse). As Spencer charts his course, he’ll keep coming back to his conversation with Esme — who seems so different now lying in a hospital bed, unwell, and afraid. Esme could be pretending that she doesn’t remember anything. From Spencer’s point of view, that would be convenient for her to just forget she is The Hook. However, it’s not sounding like she is anymore given that she is very pregnant. When Spencer visits Esme again, he might stop questioning if she’s playing the victim and could just recognize that she is one. She’s Nikolas’ victim, to be precise. Will this lead Spencer to have a soft spot for Esme and commiserate with her on some level?

GH Spoilers Say Spencer Knows Just How She Feels

Spencer knows what it feels like to be victimized by his father. He’s made the mistake of trusting him too many times and assuming Nikolas was looking out for him when he was really looking out for himself. He wouldn’t wish that on anyone — not even Esme, who now seems like a much more scared and weak version of the sinister seductress she once was. Of course, Spencer knows Esme is great at being a chameleon and altering herself for the environment she’s in. He knows she could be playing him, but something tells him his father is the bigger liar in this situation.

When Trina realizes Spencer is starting to see Esme as more of a victim than a perpetrator, she’s not going to know what to do with that information. It will make her feel less confident in jumping on board with his plan to lure The Hook to their capture, and she’s not going to feel as certain about their budding friendship — ahem, romance — either.

She thought Spencer was on her side, but it’s starting to feel like she’s competing for his affection again and it’s making her doubt him as he doubts that Esme is the evil person she always was. When she disagrees with his assessment after another visit with Esme, it might leave the two of them working at cross purposes — Trina still firmly entrenched in taking Esme down, and Spencer worried that Nikolas is the bigger bad guy.
