GH Spoilers: Spencer Breaks His Promise — And Plots To Destroy Esme

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) is teetering on the brink of blowing his relationship with Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) to bits — again. Hasn’t the young prince learned his lesson by now? When he and Trina found the evidence that Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) left behind, and realized it was likely manufactured, they agreed to trash it and never speak of it again.

And that’s what Spencer led Trina to believe he did — except he didn’t. Spencer is so blinded by his own desire to take custody of his baby brother, Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay), that he is determined to strong-arm Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) into giving up custody of him, no matter what the personal expense. As Spencer schemes to get what he wants, will he lose what he has with Trina because of it?

Spencer finally believes Esme is actually suffering from amnesia, and if she is, that means his plan should go off without a hitch. If Spencer taunts Esme with the evidence against her, she might be inclined to believe it’s authentic. Spencer could offer Esme a set of two choices: hand over Ace willingly — and possibly still have a presence in his life, or Spencer will give the evidence to the DA and have all of those charges filed against her again. This could work.

Of course, if Esme is pretending and hasn’t really lost her memory, then she’s going to know she didn’t write that letter. But she can’t risk telling Spencer that and giving herself up. So she might be forced to play along and feign fear for her freedom if she is pretending and just aiming to keep everyone in the dark about the truth — that she actually remembers everything. However, if Esme really is suffering from amnesia, then she might be likely to cave under Spencer’s pressure. Having no access to Ace and knowing he’s growing up without her while she’s behind bars is a far worse outcome than being within reach but not having legal rights to him — or so she may think.

Esme could have a few of her own tricks up her sleeve, though — and she just might seek out the help of a new ally, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr), to pull them off. Esme wasn’t expecting Portia’s olive branch when they met in the GH exam room, but she could be desperate enough to reach out to her and inquire as to why Portia would want to encourage her to get away from the Cassadines. Learning that Portia isn’t too keen on Trina’s choice in men could go a long way in forging a bond between these two mothers. Will Portia help Esme circumvent Spencer’s efforts? If so, she could end up losing Trina right alongside Spencer, but at least she might get what she wanted in the end, right? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers just ahead.
