General Hospital Spoilers – Sonny Corinthos Remains In The Dark

Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) thinks things are finally going right in his personal life. He hated being estranged from Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), but now Michael finally wants to make peace and he believes Michael is being sincere and isn’t just trying to follow dying Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) wishes. He has no clue that Michael planted Dex in his organization and was trying to set him up with the Pikeman Shipment.

He also has zero clue that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is the one who tipped off the SEC to Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) insider trading mess, so he thinks it’s the perfect time to get married. To that end, he proposes to Nina. She is definitely taken aback, especially since she feels so guilty about what she did to Carly and Drew.

GH Spoilers – Sonny Corinthos Is Full Of Heart And Romance

Maurice Benard, who has never made any secret about how much he loves Sonny being paired with Nina, absolutely loves the way the proposal scenes turned out. He may even break from his current tradition of not watching his own scenes.

“It was beautifully written and she was vulnerable and emotional,” Benard said in the May 29, 2023, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “Cynthia was SO good. I don’t know what else to say except I know I’ve done a lot of proposals, and I’m not saying this is the best, but I am saying it’s up there with the best that I’ve had. I think it’s really special. I can’t wait to see it. I don’t watch myself like I used to, but this, I can’t wait to see.”

It’s a good thing it’s so romantic because Nina is going to need some convincing in order to say yes. Nina fears what will happen if Sonny learns what she did, but she is unaware he might soon have bigger fish to fry when he learns that Michael betrayed him much worse than Nina ever did.
