Finally, it seems that Sonny has realized that there’s more to life than the power and money that came from his criminal empire. Sure, he may have lost one relationship with his son Michael, but hopefully, he’ll gain back his love and respect by choosing a more honorable path.
Of course, he may not be thinking that strategically up front, because his only concern is making sure Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) is okay — and that’s going to tear Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) up inside.
With Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) in Greenland, and now in just as much trouble as Carly may be, it’s not only not possible for him to come to her rescue — it’s ill-advised.
If he comes back to Port Charles now looking to swoop in and take the heat off Carly, he’s only going to raise red flags for the SEC. Instead, he’ll have to let Carly handle this her way, and that generally includes letting Sonny help her out.
For starters, he’s got his best lawyer on the case, and Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) will do everything in her power to make sure Carly doesn’t spend a day behind bars. This is going to drive Nina mad and make her feel certain that she’s going to lose Sonny.
Nina thought she had it all figured out when she told Martin ‘Marty’ Grey (Michael E. Knight) to go ahead with her plan to attack Carly and Drew.
They were more than deserving of whatever punishment came her way as far as she was concerned. An eye for an eye, right? The trouble is, Nina is punishing Carly for a crime in which she didn’t harm Nina.
Instead, she’s seeking to take control in whatever means she can to hurt Carly, because she’s hurting. Sonny could take sympathy on that, but it’s unlikely, which is why Nina is going to grow very concerned that she opened Pandora’s box as she sees Sonny show only concern for Carly and anger for whomever tattled on her.
It won’t be long before the truth comes out, as it always does. Sonny isn’t going to take kindly to Nina lying to him the entire time about her involvement, nor to her using the information she had to attack one of the mothers of his children.
Likewise, Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) already thinks of Carly as a mother more so than she does her own birth mother, Nina.
So when she gets wind of what Nina has done, that just might erase any chance that they’ll ever have a relationship. Boy has Nina dug a hole for herself this time. Keep checking back with us for more GH news and spoilers just ahead to see how this pans out.
