Years back on General Hospital, Silas held Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) against her will and told her she had cancer. He ended up using Avery Corinthos’ (Grace Scarola) bone marrow to cure Ava. Now, he’s back to do the same — this time making himself the sacrificial lamb and martyr.
One would think that since Michael Easton is currently consumed with playing the role of Hamilton Finn, he couldn’t possibly be brought on to play Silas Clay. Wrong! While it would make sense that GH writers could have someone else fill his shoes, the reality is, Finn’s role is rather bland right now and fans have been wanting a shake-up in his life for some time now. Maybe he gets called away to fulfill a dream again with Doctors Without Borders. Maybe he stays in town and just gets less screen time while Silas is taking up all four corners of the TV. Either way, we’re here for a dual role on Easton’s behalf.
According to General Hospital spoilers, Silas was supposedly stabbed in the back — quite literally — by Madeline Reeves (Donna Mills) in 2015. How could he possibly be alive and well now? We see this going one of two ways. Either Silas really is alive and somehow escaped his death but let everyone think he had moved on — or he has an identical twin.
While the former is possible, and he could be lurking somewhere hiding out with Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) — who is rumored to also be alive, the latter does seem more likely given the parallels in this storyline with the former twin storylines of Ava/Donna and Willow/Nelle.
When Silas walks back into Nina’s life, she’s not going to be sad to see him. Nina always loved Silas, even at his worst. That was something she was apparently capable of with him that she hasn’t mastered yet with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
Unable to even acknowledge the darker side of Sonny’s life, Nina has voluntarily kept it hidden from herself. She can’t stand that Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) was able to be the fully present other half Sonny needs when she can’t muster up the courage to do the same.
But having Silas around again could remind her that she was once someone’s Carly. Will Nina and Silas find their way back to one another as they move toward sharing the same bond Carly and Sonny do — their daughter, Willow? Keep checking back with us for more GH news and spoilers just ahead to find out.
