GH Spoilers: Portia Pushes Esme Toward Spencer — Will He Take The Bait?

General Hospital spoilers tease Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) has been a bit preoccupied for the last couple of weeks since her husband, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), was shot and left paralyzed.

Fighting tooth and nail for her marriage has taken precedence over everything else that was going on in her life — including her plans to foster a relationship between Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) and Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez).

General Hospital Spoilers — Portia Robinson’s Feelings Toward Spencer  Cassadine Are No Secret.

 Portia’s feelings toward Spencer are no secret, and she’s been adamant about trying to keep him away from her daughter, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), as much as possible.

Trina can read between the lines and recognizes the tension between her beau and her mom, recently agreeing with him that it’s best they keep their romance on the down low for now.

But she could never imagine that her mother would betray her so boldly as to encourage Esme to poach Spencer right out of Trina’s arms. Of course, is it really Portia’s fault if Spencer falls for Esme’s trap?

General Hospital Spoilers — Esme Prince’s Budding Feelings

It’s clear to viewers that Esme has been resisting her feelings for Spencer, but she obviously has a bit of a crush on her ex. This is a new experience for Esme — assuming she’s actually suffering from amnesia — because she can’t remember their past at all.

It was a delight for her to hear from Spencer’s lips that he did love her, even if the story had a rather brutal ending. Now, she’s enjoying playing house with him in Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) absence, and she’s none the wiser that Portia is pulling strings to suit her own agenda.

As far as Esme is concerned, the feelings she is developing for Spencer are her own, and very real.

Some might accuse Portia of misdirecting her feelings toward Curtis in her daughter’s direction. Maybe she can’t make this marriage of hers work and so she doesn’t think her little girl deserves the same happiness.

Perhaps she really is concerned that Spencer isn’t good enough for Trina, but putting her own opinions to the side long enough to watch them in action could go a long way in helping Portia to see she might be wrong about the young Cassadine this time around.

Nonetheless, as tension rises between Curtis and Portia, we caexpect to see Trinn a’s mom keeping herself busy by sticking her nose into Sprina’s business instead.

General Hospital Spoilers — Spencer Cassadine Shifts Gears

Esme might be falling for Spencer, but that doesn’t mean he would ever entertain anything more than co-parenting with her again. Of course, just a few short months ago, he had no idea how was even going to stomach that, much less anything else.

Now, some would call them friends based purely on the way they interact. Heck, family even. Now that Trina is moving back into her parents’ place, it may leave her with less time for Spencer.

They can’t very well hang out at her house, and Esme — or Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) — seems to need Spencer any time she swings by his.

Will this continued logistical strain on their relationship leave the door wide open for Spencer to start seeing Esme in a new light that makes her look more appealing than ever before?
