GH Spoilers: Now That He’s Better, Could Marcus Coloma Return As Nikolas Cassadine?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers seem to suggest that a Nikolas Cassadine full-time return might be on the horizon.

Actor Marcus Coloma recently revealed that the reason he went on an initial hiatus from the show, and then didn’t finish off his final scenes, was due to health issues.

Now that he’s better, could this be a hint that Nik and Coloma are on their way back to Port Charles?

General Hospital (GH) Spoilers – Marcus Coloma Dealt With Long-Term COVID-19 Symptoms

Coloma recently had an interview with Soaps.com, where he revealed the reason actor Adam Huss had to step in not once, but twice for him was because he caught COVID-19.

The first time was because of the virus itself, and Marcus’s second hiatus was due to the after-effects of the illness.

Coloma notes that the initial symptoms weren’t that bad, and the illness only lasted a couple of days; however, it was the brain fog and fatigue he developed in the aftermath that lasted a long while and truly affected his life.

He couldn’t memorize lines because of this, and as the “show” still had to go on, Adam Huss was brought in.

While Marcus was disappointed, he couldn’t finish his last run on GH, he did completely understand the situation the soap was in. Still, Coloma also relayed in the interview that he’s finally back to feeling 100%.

GH Spoilers – Adam Huss Has Always Felt Like A Temporary Solution

Adam Huss has done a tremendous job as Nikolas, considering the situation. He was brought in very quickly and had to dive into an established role at a rapid pace.

However, Huss has always felt like a “temp” in the role. If Nikolas were to return on a full-time basis, it does seem as if the show would either recast the role to someone entirely different or bring in an actor who played the part, previously.

Some fans would love to see either Marcus or OG Nik, actor Tyler Christopher, but the ladder has had his fair share of life issues that he’s still sorting out. Now that Coloma is feeling better, if Nikolas returns, could we see Marcus step in, permanently?
