After a chat with her best gal pal, Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West), Nina is wondering if turning Carly in will only end up leading Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) right to his ex’s door. We all know how much Sonny loves to be a hero — and he’ll go to the ends of the Earth to help the mothers of his children. What has Nina done?
Nina just isn’t nearly as cutthroat as she would have to be to truly go up against a woman like Carly, who has sharpened herself against the rubble of every explosive event she has endured over the years being in and out of love with Sonny.
Truly, Nina is no match for her, and she’s also not a good match for the mobster himself. Right now, the goal is just to make sure Carly doesn’t spend time in lock-up while the SEC continues to investigate the claims against her and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison). As that case develops and the dust settles, Sonny will make it his personal mission to figure out who reported Carly and make them pay. It’s not going to take much effort for him to unravel Nina’s lies.
At first, the family might think Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) followed through with his threats, but he’s going to insist that he didn’t. Most everyone will believe him, since it makes no sense that he would have this go down during Willow Corinthos’ (Katelyn MacMullen) and Michael Corinthos’ (Chad Duell) wedding, nor that he would turn them in while Drew isn’t able to be detained.
Nina’s current situation is like a ticking time bomb, with Willow’s life hanging precariously in the balance. It’s understandable that tensions are high between the two, considering their history, but this is going to add fuel to the fire. Nina and Willow have never had the best relationship, so when Willow finds out what Nina has done to Carly, that’s going to be the final straw. Unfortunately, Nina seems to have misplaced her anger and frustration towards Carly, blaming her for her own deficiencies.
Despite her best efforts, Nina just can’t seem to catch a break. She’s had her fair share of setbacks and challenges, but she always manages to find a scapegoat for her own flaws. Enter Carly, the no-nonsense bigger than life personality who always tells it like it is. Nina has clearly underestimated what it means to have a family with Sonny — something she will never really have. Clearly, sharing grandchildren is not the same as sharing children together. That will become quite obvious to Nina as she sees Sonny circle around Carly in her time of need and leave her in the dust. Keep checking back with us for more GH news and spoilers just ahead.
