General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) has never been fond of being single. Even when he’s not married, he’s looking to be. A string of exes are a testament to that.

Ever the romantic, Sonny wants a woman by his side who will be his ride or die when he’s at his best – and when he’s at his worst, off his meds, and ruining his life and those of everyone around him.

Is that too much to ask? It seems to be a universal assumption among fans that only Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) fits that bill, but there is someone else who is quite compatible with the mobster that we all keep overlooking — and that would be Ava Jerome (Maura West).

General Hospital Spoilers — Carly Spencer Is Lonely Without Drew Cain

Carly has been pretty busy with a lot more on her plate than she’s used to juggling on her own. Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) is in prison, and it’s left her feeling like she’s pretty alone in the world — especially with her mom out of town and not able to come to her aid when she has a bad day.

Carly doesn’t have too many people in her orbit she considers close friends, but Sonny is definitely one of them. Regardless of what has happened in the past or with their many marriages, Carly knows Sonny is always going to be in her corner.

That’s what Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) loathes the most. Will Carly’s loneliness become Sonny’s new weakness?

GH Spoilers – Suggest Nina Reeves Is Worried About The Wrong Woman

Nina might continue to grow suspicious of Carly, especially as she starts spending more time with Sonny. But the mob boss knows how it works when an enemy is out to get him.

That means they’ve got their eye on him; so he can’t meet up with Ava as freely as he would like to discuss details of his attack plan or they might catch on to their conspiring ways.

Instead, he’ll entrust Carly as the middleman who can mediate between them and keep Ava apprised of his plans. It’s a win-win from where Sonny sits, but for Nina, it’s going to look like Sonny and Ava are both spending an awful lot of time with her arch enemy.

Ava is going to be the least of Nina’s worries, especially as she continues to reinforce that her bestie doesn’t need to be worried about Sonny spending time with his ex.

But when Nina learns that Ava is also meeting up with Carly, she will start to suspect that Ava may have plans to reveal the truth to Sonny and Carly about what she had done.

Despite consistent assurance from both Ava and Sonny that she has nothing to worry about, Nina’s own paranoia could get the best of her and lead her to confess — before Ava can do it for her.
