GH Spoilers: Nik Won’t Have To Fake His Death To Escape Persecution When Mayor Mommy Intervenes

General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) will be off the hook sooner than he thinks, and he may not have to do much to help himself, unfortunately. Will Nikolas ever learn his lesson if his family keeps bailing him out of the messy situations he creates? Anything to prevent tarnishing the Cassadine name — or in this case, the Mayor’s reputation.

Yes, Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis) is going to step in this time around to make sure she doesn’t have to worry about the target painted on her son’s back by none other than Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy). Of course, it’ll serve Nik well since he’s about to go down for holding Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) against her will and aiding and abetting a fugitive from justice. Laura won’t know that at the time that she offers help to her son, but what will she do about it after the fact?

Nikolas knows his days may very well be numbered. Esme could remember what happened to her in the weeks and months leading up to her hospitalization at any time. If she’s faking this whole amnesia thing, she could just be tormenting him until the random moment she decides she’s had enough of this game. His life is in her hands — or locked in her mind —and he’s had enough of it.

He’s hopeful that Carolyn Webber (Denise Crosby) might offer her expertise to help permanently suppress Esme’s memories, but we’ve seen how well that worked for Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst), so there really are no guarantees. Nik is definitely looking for the trap door out of this sticky situation.

GH Spoilers – Reveal He Might Pull A Page From His Own Book

Nikolas has done this before. He knows how to get out of dodge if he has to. Once upon a time, he faked his death — and it worked. No one was any the wiser. Of course, this time around, they might suspect it’s all too convenient and go looking for him, but if he can manage to skirt himself off in advance to someplace without extradition, he could be in the clear.

However, that means never returning to see his family again, and Nik isn’t sure he’s ready for that — especially with a new baby on the way who would be left in the care of a mad woman. Will he really have the nerve to stage his death and break his mother’s heart all over again?

Laura might not have any awareness of what Nik is going through or what he has done, but she does know Victor is out for blood. When she starts to worry that Nikolas could be under attack and Victor might actually want his head on a platter so that Nik is out of the way of the family fortune, Laura could swoop in and offer her son the perfect escape — witness protection!

Will Nik capitalize on this opportunity and let Laura help him while she’s completely in the dark about what he’s done? If so, what will Laura do when she finds out he has become Jordan Ashford’s (Tanisha Harper) number one suspect?
