GH Spoilers: Michael Wonders Whether His Mom Still Carrying A Torch For Sonny, Decides To Fans The Flames

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) recently went out of her way to make sure that her son, Michael Coritnhos (Chad Duell), doesn’t stop looking after Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) in his time of need. Realizing that Michael was angry enough with his father to have planned out a major vendetta against him they would’ve put him behind bars for the rest of his life, Carly knew she needed to change the trajectory of their relationship.

Did she really call on Michael to keep employing Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) to have Sonny’s back, or is this actually her way of making sure Michael starts to look at his dad in a different light — having a concern for his well-being more so than being concerned over his mistakes in the past?

Regardless, it’s going to leave Michael thinking that his mom may still be carrying a torch for his father, and as his own feelings toward Sonny change, he may decide that Carly’s should, too.

Initially, Michael probably thought Carly’s plan was a bit over the top. Why is this woman so concerned about what her ex-husband is up to anyway?

That is what he would be asking if it were anyone but his own mother. But as time passes, Michael is going to start wondering why Carly cared so much and whether it could be because she’s still in love with Sonny. After all, they’ve only been married and divorced four times over now.

Can Michael use his role as an intermediary between Carly and Sonny to play matchmaker? It sounds like the fans are hoping so.

With Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) out of the picture and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) likely on her way to the same destination, it stands to reason that this landmark Port Charles pair could soon find their way back to each other.

When Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) puts the idea in Michael’s head that things may not be as done with Sonny and Carly as they look, he just might nudge it to the next level.

Of course, Willow is only just now inviting Nina into her private friends and family bubble. Headed home to recover from a bone marrow transplant, Willow has a new lease on life and she’s looking at her mother differently.

She wants to give Nina a fair and honest chance to redeem herself. If she does, Willow might start to feel sympathetic toward Nina and a bit differently toward Carly — who recently roped her son into another scheme with the mob behind Sonny’s back.
