General Hospital spoilers reveal Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) has always been the one to cut to the chase, and her observation about Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) not being able to handle Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) at his worst was on point. For someone who never knew the real Sonny, it’s going to be a rude awakening when the ruthless side of him starts taking over.

Nina’s image of him as a strong but gentle man who nursed her heart back to health will gradually fade away as she learns who he really is. As much as she might want to shield herself from the truth, eventually she’ll have to face it. The question is, will she be able to handle who he actually is, and will she be able to handle Carly being right — again?

When it comes to Sonny, the name of the game is loyalty. Cross him or his family, and you’ll be feeling the burn of his wrath for a long time to come. Unfortunately, betrayal runs deep in his bloodline, and the sting of it when Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) goes against his father will cause Sonny to spiral into a dark place.

Add to that the pain of learning that Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) was a plant the entire time — we are guaranteed that the new cool, calm, and collected Sonny is certain to depart. Even Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) won’t be able to ignore the sudden shift in his personality, and she’s been pretending the darker half of Sonny doesn’t exist this entire time!

Nina is starting to sweat. She’s afraid of what might happen if Sonny ever finds out that she’s the one who tattled to the SEC about Carly and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) engaging in insider trading. Nina’s nerves will start to fray as she watches how Sonny reacts to Michael and Dex setting him up. She knew family came first for Sonny, but she never imagined he could become so enraged over someone going behind his back and trying to screw with his family. When she sees how he’s willing to treat his own son as a result of Michael’s betrayal, it’s going to have her wondering what he might possibly do to her if he ever finds out what she’s done.

It’s a good thing Carly doesn’t know what Nina did right now, because she’s going to have enough on her plate cleaning up the mess between father and son in this epic family fallout. Michael probably learned from the very best how to exact his revenge.

Still, Carly knows what it looks like when Sonny is truly struggling and at capacity. As she starts to worry that he’s taking it too hard — and too far — will Nina heed her warnings and get the heck out of dodge? When Sonny falls apart, so does everything within his reach.
