GH Spoilers: Maxie Mourns For Austin!

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) didn’t make a lot of friends during his time in Port Charles.

But as news of his death becomes known, there may be a couple people who will have a surprisingly strong reaction to the loss.

Austin made it difficult for anyone to get close to him, but recently Ava Jerome (Maura West) had a complicated relationship with the doctor and her feelings about his death are bound to be equally complex.

General Hospital Spoilers – Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt First Arrived As A Hero!

A few years ago, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) was kidnapped by Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) hired nurse and taken to a remote cabin in Pautauk. Maxie was nine months pregnant and somehow managed to escape the evil nurse.

As she ran into the wilderness, she realized that the baby wasn’t going to wait any longer. She cried out for help and Austin showed up, and delivered Maxie’s baby right then and there.

GH Spoilers – Austin Gatlin-Holt And Maxie Jones Didn’t Quite Work Romantically

After Peter died, Maxie and Austin tried to make a romance between them work. But the chemistry just wasn’t there and their romance fizzled and the duo went their separate ways. But Austin had a familial connection in Port Charles that he kept secret at first.

Austin was the son of Jimmy Lee Holt (Steve Bond) who was the illegitimate son of Edward Quartermaine (John Ingle).

Both Jimmy Lee and Edward have passed away, but Austin maintained that they were about to reconcile and he sued the Quartermaine family to get his share of the company.

General Hospital Spoilers – Brook Lynn Quartermaine Blackmailed Austin Gatlin Holt!

Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) ended up getting enough dirt on Austin to blackmail him out of his lawsuit against the family and that was pretty much the end of Austin’s association with his own family.

When word of Austin’s death reaches both Maxie and Brook Lynn, look for both of them to have quite a reaction.

Maxie will mourn for the romance that never was and Brook Lynn will likely feel pangs of guilt for the way she treated her own family. Although Austin died alone, his death will likely mean something to at least a few people.
