GH Spoilers: Mac And Cody Are Becoming Good Friends — Can This End Well?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Mac Scorpio (John J. York) and Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) might be spending more time together in the coming months. These two have taken an interest in their newfound friendship, even with only one-half of them knowing the truth about their connection. Mac just can’t shake the feeling that Cody could benefit from his guidance, and he has a strong urge to be the person who is there for him to provide it.

Still, the more time they get to link up, the more it’s going to eat Cody up inside that he lied to Mac, who is really his biological father. Is there ever going to be a clean way for Cody to tell Mac the truth without facing massive and possibly permanent repercussions?

Although Cody told everyone right away when he got the results of the paternity test that Mac wasn’t his father, Mac hasn’t been able to shake the disappointment of that news. Likewise, he hasn’t stopped feeling a connection to Cody that keeps him wanting to stay invested and involved in his life. Mac hasn’t slowed down to explore why that is, probably because he can’t come up with a rational explanation for it. Is he longing for a son he doesn’t have? That might be what he’s telling himself.

Cody would love to go back and do things over, but that’s easy to say now that the necklace has allegedly been lost in the fire Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) supposedly started. Without any fortune in sight, there’s no reason for Cody to hang onto the narrative that Leopold Taub (Chip Lucia) was his father.

In fact, that only taints his reputation more, and certainly more than it would for people to know Mac is his dad. It doesn’t get much better than that. Cody now understands all the hype around Mac and how fantastic of a guy he really is. If he came clean now and told Mac he lied, and most importantly why he lied, he’s not sure Mac would be able to look at him without disappointment and disdain.

Cody might be worried about what Mac will think of him and how it’ll make him feel that Cody chose the necklace and Taub’s fortune over the chance to know his father, but eventually he’s going to be more concerned with being honest with his dad than he is about his past mistakes and what they could cost him.

Cody is willing to do the hard work to earn Mac’s respect back should he lose it, but he’s not going to be willing to go through his life pretending Mac isn’t his dad for much longer — not when he’s longing for that connection so much.
