While Joss and Cam are busy trying to be friends again for the sake of their child, they’ll be supporting their other friend — Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) — in the fight for custody of his future half-sibling. Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) will be by his side as well, helping him prepare for fatherhood. It looks like these four friends are jumping straight from being kids, to having them.
Questions about paternity will surface immediately when Joss discovers she is pregnant. However, it won’t take long for her to pinpoint who her baby daddy is based on an early ultrasound that can measure the baby’s size to gauge an estimate of how far along she is.
Given that there was a decent chunk of time between her last rendezvous with Cam, and her initial hook-up with Dex, it’ll become clear that the baby is too far developed to be Dex’s — even if Joss had conceived on their first night together. Cam is going to be a dad, and he won’t be nearly as upset about it as Joss will be.
Meanwhile, Spencer is preparing for a custody battle, armed with Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) at his side. This is a good sign, because Diane doesn’t accept cases she knows she has no shot at winning. Still, it’ll be an uphill battle getting a judge to grant custody to someone who is not only not a biological parent, but is a convicted felon with no home of his own.
Can Spencer make Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) look bad enough that he pales in comparison to his own ill-equipped 19-year-old son? Why is Spencer fighting so hard for this anyway? Is it really about the baby’s best interests, or does he just want payback and to make his dad miserable?
Trina isn’t willing to overlook Spencer’s motives in his pursuit of custody of his new half-sibling. She doesn’t feel like his only goal is to make sure the baby is cared for and not treated as though he or she is disposable, like he was. If only that were the case. It’s clear Spencer has vengeance on his mind and Trina feels it’s wrong for the baby to be a pawn in his game.
Still, she wants to be with Spencer so badly that she will try to stomach this as long as she can, preparing to play mommy to Esmé Prince’s (Avery Kristen Pohl) child. Likewise, Joss is far from ready for motherhood. She wants to be a doctor. She likes sleeping in on the weekends. She enjoys playing with her little sisters, but then she goes back to her dorm. Joss is not ready to raise a child, and that could bring about an interesting storyline. Will Cam choose to do it alone? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers just ahead.
