GH Spoilers: How Is Austin Ava’s Family-Mob, Cult, Or Is Olivia Jerome Mason’s Mother?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers and rumors tease there must be a reason Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) referred to Ava Jerome (Maura West) as “family”. Does he mean mob family, cult family, or could Olivia Jerome (Tonja Walker) be Mason Gatlin’s (Nathanyael Grey) mother?

General Hospital Spoilers – Ava Jerome Wanted To Know Why

Austin had come to Wyndemere to protect Ava from his cousin Mason, who’s after her, and quite unintentionally happened upon Ava hiding Nikolas Cassadine’s (Adam Huss) body. Ava told him everything, and he didn’t seem fazed – he didn’t even tell her to go to the police and said he’d help her and she wanted to know why. He told her it was for family reasons and she was family to him and said his family, her family-but how, and what did he mean by “family”?

Mason has quite often tried to force Austin to come back to “the family” but Austin doesn’t want to go. He also referred to “the boss” of the “family” but what could this mean-a mob, a cult-or blood family-Ava’s not related to Austin’s parents, but could she be related to Mason’s?

GH Spoilers – Who Are Mason Gatlin’s Parents?

We know Mason and Austin are cousins, and it must be through the Gatlin side; Charity Gatlin (Gloria Carlin) was married to Jimmy Lee Holt (Steve Bond) and is Austin’s mother. Before marrying Jimmy Lee she was a widow married to someone named Gatlin – his brother has to be Mason’s father, so that leaves Mason’s mother to actually be Ava’s relative.

Granted, the relative could be a cousin but the “family” business Austin is trying to get out of seems to be mob-related- which Austin has to operate to remove the payload. It could be either drugs, in which case he has to operate to remove drug packets the “patient” has swallowed, or it’s black market organs Austin has to remove. Mason has relocated from Pautauk to Port Charles, and Ava’s sister Olivia Jerome has been transferred to Pentonville-could Olivia be Mason’s mother?

General Spoilers – Family, But Not Actually Related

If Mason’s mother is Ava’s sister, then Austin would be Ava’s family in a sense but not actually related to her, although Mason would since Charity’s first husband was his uncle. The timing seems right for Olivia to be both “the boss” and the head of “the family” who would be Austin’s aunt by marriage only, with him unrelated to her. Olivia could easily be running “the family” which would be the remnant of the Jerome crime family from inside the prison.

It has been said D’Archam Asylum is in Port Charles, but that is likely only an assumption. It could be in another part of New York, quite possibly near Pautauk, so Olivia being “the boss” and Austin’s aunt via marriage, making Ava family makes sense.
