Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) sounds like he has a surprise for Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) as he tells her it’s ready if she is. But more than likely he’s talking about a sentimental gift she’s getting ready to deliver. They may be headed over to Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Portia Robinson’s (Brook Kerr) wedding, since Curtis and Nina are good friends.
Sonny is obviously helping with the sentimental gift and getting it ready while they’ve been at the hospital waiting on news on Willow. Nina can certainly use the distraction of the wedding of her good friend.
Meanwhile, in her hospital room, Willow is not nearly so positive as she tries to get Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) to face the bitter truth of a life without her. Michael, like everyone else who is close to Willow, is trying to keep Willow positive and actively looking for answers to prolong her life; he spoke of cutting edge research facilities. Willow will not want that, she is facing her own mortality and likely realizing that her own choices brought her to this point. If treatment had started much earlier, perhaps she would be healed by now, although she certainly won’t regret her baby girl being born healthy. Willow is obviously feeling she gambled and lost.
At Wyndemere, Ava Jerome (Maura West) is putting the rush on Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) regarding disposal of Nikolas Cassadine’s (Adam Huss) body. She knows that she cannot stop Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) from turning herself into the police for her part in helping Nikolas, and Spoon Island will be swarming with police. She tells Austin he’s got to get going, and they’ve got to get rid of the evidence.
For Ava’s part she is saying that Nikolas stormed out of the castle and she doesn’t think he’s ever coming back. Not being in touch with his family may not seem unusual since he was alive previously in the company of Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) and didn’t contact anyone.
Meanwhile, back at Elizabeth’s house, she and Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) are talking about her plans to turn herself into the police, and she has told him what Ava said. Ava had told her about Nikolas leaving town and likely never returning and Finn says well, that changes everything. Ava had made some good points to Elizabeth about keeping silent since she wouldn’t tell, Nikolas is unlikely to and Esmé Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) has indeterminate amnesia. Ava also expressed concern about what would happen to Elizabeth’s boys and how they would react.
It’s Curtis and Portia’s wedding day, and Portia tells Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) she wants her special day to be just as special for her. They’re all ready to get started and Trina and Portia are both dressed to the nines. Perhaps the wedding will also be a welcome distraction from Trina’s worries over Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) and his family worries.
Laura Collins (Genie Francis) has stepped in for Stella Henry (Vernée Watson) and will be officiating the wedding. Perhaps Spencer might show up as well.
Stella backed out of officiating Curtis and Portia’s wedding claiming illness, but more likely because of her suspicions about Curtis being Trina’s birth father. At GH, TJ has his own sneaking suspicions as he tells his mother, Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) they both know there’s more going on there! Jordan seems very distracted and TJ can tell there’s something bothering her, she might as well give it up and tell him. They will continue their heart to heart talk.
Meanwhile, Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) are already in their tuxedos, presumably at the wedding venue. Marshall tells Drew there is something he can do for him. Drew will be glad to help him with whatever the request is.
It may be something about Marshall being asked to play a clarinet solo at the wedding, which he had been a little iffy about. Perhaps he wants Drew to help him set up some sound equipment.
In the meantime, while Marshall may not have been so sure about playing clarinet, Curtis says he’s never been so sure of anything in his life. Presumably, he’s talking about his upcoming marriage to Portia and reciting those wedding vows as he’s all dressed and ready to go too. This time, he’s sure nothing will happen to break up him and Portia and he’s ready.
All the pieces are in place and they all get ready for the big event. It’s going to be just a few minutes before he and Portia are man and wife.
