GH Spoilers: Ex-Dillon Quartermaine’s Robert Palmer Watkins Shares “Brutal” Story Of Firing

General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate that the land of Port Charles can be a dramatic place to live. Dillon Quartermaine was once a staple in the little town until his character was erased from storylines in 2017.

The character’s portrayer, actor Robert Palmer Watkins, recently shared the real-life story of how he was fired from the soap opera, during an interview with Soaps.com.

General Hospital Spoilers – Robert Palmer Watkins Was Shocked

GH spoilers note that it’s been a hot minute since Tracy Quartermaine’s (Jane Elliot) youngest son has been in Port Chuckles.

Watkins relays to Soaps.com that he was completely “shocked” when he learned that he was let go of his contract and had “no idea” it was coming.

The actor states during the interview that he was shooting a film, taking a couple of weeks off from the soap. He was on his last three days of the project, on a lunch break, when he found out he was released from GH.

Watkins reveals that he was trying to hold it all together, and it was pretty “brutal”. Still, his bad day was about to get worse when his release hit the news, something he notes he had nothing to do with.

He adds that he doesn’t know how the press found out about his firing the day it happened. In fact, the soap called him about it, not happy that the information hit the airwaves and internet, but he told them it wasn’t him.

GH Spoilers – Robert Palmer Watkins Isn’t Bitter Though

The bad news is that Dillon Quartermaine and Robert Palmer Watkins haven’t been seen or heard about since his firing; however, the good news is that the actor isn’t bitter at all about his daytime drama experience.

He notes his time on the show was “amazing” and that he’s “grateful” for the opportunity it has opened for him. Still, he does wish he could have left GH on his own terms, but it’s nice he has fond memories.
