GH Spoilers: Esme Grows Green With Envy Over Spencer’s Love For Trina

General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate Laura Collins (Genie Francis) and Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) have made their departure for Russia. Back home, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) and Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) are left to their own devices. Well, sort of. Martin ‘Marty’ Grey (Michael E. Knight) is there to watch over them but he’s probably not expecting what is in store while Laura is gone.

Truth be told, neither are Spencer or Esme. As they may have been surprised recently when Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) was visiting Spencer, Esme found herself feeling rather jealous of their coziness on the couch. These feelings bubbling up inside of Esme took her by surprise. Normally, she feels nothing but annoyance and distaste for Spencer. So why was she so eager for Trina to leave?

Trina’s last visit was cut short when baby Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) was restless and Esme couldn’t get him to sleep. Feeling pushed out of the conversation and unwelcome, Trina saw her way to the door despite Spencer‘s urging her to stay. It was clear to train her that Spencer and Esme were much more of a family unit than she was previously aware of. This might change the dynamic about moving forward but Trina isn’t throwing in the towel just yet. She and Spencer are going to get time together soon.

Of course, any attempt that Spencer and Trina make to spend time with one another is conveniently going to be interrupted by Esme. She’s going to be relying on Spencer more than ever while Laura is away to help her with Ace. He’s more than qualified to do so, even though Esme continues to assert that she is the primary and superior parent in the situation. Conveniently, every time Spencer and Trina seem to get close to having some time together to unwind and reconnect, Esme might burst into the room with a new excuse every five minutes. Where is Ace’s Binky? Where is the diaper bag? Where is his favorite stuffed animal? You get the picture.

Slowly, and without much awareness of it, Ace is going to become nothing more than a tool to pry Spencer away from Trina. It won’t take long for Spencer to catch on to this, but it’s also not going to make any sense to him that Esme doesn’t want Trina around. This may lead Spencer to think Esme could be remembering the past and is holding something against Trina. In reality, all that Esme holds against Trina is that she is holding the spot of Spencer‘s girlfriend. Is Ms. Prince hoping to clean that title for herself?
