GH Spoilers: Drew Pops The Question — Carly Says Yes, Knowing She Won’t Marry Him

General Hospital spoilers reveal Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) isn’t wasting time getting to know Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) better or making sure they’re compatible enough as a couple to become husband and wife. He thinks it’s a great idea — right now.

Carly, on the other hand, doesn’t necessarily agree. That doesn’t mean she will have the heart to tell him so though, especially when much of the hesitancy she has is due to old feelings springing up that she thought she left in the past.

As Carly once again grows closer to her ex, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), in the weeks ahead, it’s going to leave a crimp in Drew’s plans for their future. Do they even have one?

General Hospital spoilers say Drew had no idea when he told Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) that he would help him track Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) down — and take him down — how much he would miss Carly.

Having plenty of time away to reflect on his feelings and gauge what he really wants to come next, Drew is going to become rather certain that his happily ever after includes Carly as his next wife. When he proposes, it won’t just shock Sonny and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), but Carly herself.

Carly is going to embrace Drew’s homecoming and look forward to having him to lean on again. However, it won’t take long for him to realize she’s been leaning on someone else while he was away.

Sonny’s organization is in the midst of another crisis, and he has no idea he’s being targeted by Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) and his own son, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell).

When they make their final move and Sonny is thrown in a jail cell — likely by his other son, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) — Carly will be the only person standing capable of stepping up to fill his shoes while he’s away.

Will the Five Families accept her at her word, or might they once again question the union unless Sonny and Carly are married? This could get interesting.

Carly is going to be faced with an unspeakable decision. She will have to choose between the future of Sonny’s organization — and the detrimental consequences that its failure would rain down upon her family — or her future with Drew.

It won’t dawn on her until he proposes that she might not actually want that future they loosely planned on after all. What happened? Did Drew’s departure really open the door to the Sonny and Carly reunion we all know is coming?
