GH Spoilers: Diane Has Bad News For Spencer About Custody Of Ace-Esmé Disagrees?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers and updates tease that Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) will have bad news for Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez). Spencer and Laura Collins (Genie Francis) are ready to take Ace Prince-Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) home, but his mother disagrees!

General Hospital Spoilers – Getting Ready To Take Baby Home

At the hospital, Spencer, Laura and Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) discuss baby Ace and Spencer and Laura get ready to take him home. A nurse brings paperwork for Spencer to sign, for Ace to be released to their custody. She says to Spencer she just needs a couple of signatures, and they can take the baby home.

As Victor plays with the baby and Laura casts worried glances at him, Diane appears and excuses herself, saying she’s afraid there’s been a change in plans. Spencer had been working with Diane over custody issues, having planned to fight his father, Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) for custody of his sibling, and he asks her what she means.

GH Spoilers – Victor Cassadine Objects

Diane continues, and tells Spencer that she’s sorry, but that baby is not going anywhere. Victor, Laura and Spencer all look shocked and concerned, and Victor objects. He tells Diane, as Laura stifles a laugh, do you know who you’re speaking with? Diane makes it perfectly clear it’s not him she’s addressing, and says she’s talking to her client-Spencer, as Spencer looks dismayed and Victor continues playing with Ace. Laura interjects, assuring Spencer it will be okay, and says it will give them a chance to reconsider their plan; Laura didn’t want Ace to never see his mother. But Spencer strongly disagrees with her, not feeling that she would be a fit mother to care for his baby brother.

General Hospital Spoilers – No Reconsideration Needed

Spencer tells Laura that there is nothing to reconsider, taking Ace from Victor, maintaining that his baby brother belongs with him. Then Diane explains that unfortunately, his mother, Esmé Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) disagrees; she apparently wants to keep her baby with her. Heather Webber (Alley Mills) who Esmé wouldn’t let near the baby, had told her she could keep the baby with her in prison for eighteen months.

This is likely what she told Diane and the hospital staff, not allowing Laura and Spencer to take Ace home, even though Laura had talked to her about it previously. They will guarantee Ace will be taken care of and protected, but Diane will tell them their guarantee may do more harm than good.
