GH Spoilers: Dex Has Second Thoughts About Michael

General Hospital spoilers reveal Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) hasn’t been happy about his go-between status for a while now. No matter what he does, he can’t seem to keep everyone happy on all sides.

Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) pleaded with Dex to stay on board and keep an eye on Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) — all without him knowing. At the time, it seemed harmless, but he also knows it would have been a hard proposition to turn down. What could he have possibly said that they would have accepted?

Nonetheless, he’s been struggling for weeks with the sense of loyalty he has toward the mob boss. Now that Sonny has been arrested, Dex may only feel more of a duty to come clean — even if it could cause the don’s family to implode.

General Hospital Spoilers — Family Ties that Bind

Dex wasn’t exactly in a good position to turn down Michael’s offer with Carly peering over his shoulder and pleading alongside him to stay on board with working behind Sonny’s back.

He had already made it clear to Josslyn ‘Joss’ Jacks (Eden McCoy) that despite being out from under Michael’s thumb, he wasn’t ready to walk away from the business.

He found himself at home with Sonny and nothing else he could do would pay him the kind of money he’s making working for the mob.

Joss’ arguments about making an honest living didn’t resonate, and when Michael and Carly pitched their idea to have him report back to Michael about Sonny’s business dealings, he leapt at the chance to have a more valid excuse to stay in the game. But that doesn’t mean his heart was in it.

When Dex opens up to Joss about how unhappy he has been with his work arrangement, she just might have a glimmer of hope that he has seen the light. Will he bail on Sonny in his time of need in favor of a more secure relationship with her?

Unfortunately, these two are nowhere near being on the same page. Joss wants Dex out of the business. Dex wants out of his arrangement with Michael and Carly.

She’s not going to be happy to hear that his loyalty for the mob boss has grown so strong that he wants to sever ties with Michael and stick by Sonny’s side — even if his empire is sinking.

When he breaks the news to Joss that it’s been bothering him to lie to Sonny this way, she’s going to have a hard time wrapping her head around the idea that he’s grown this loyal to a man she truly still cannot stand.

With Sonny now looking at serving time for the rest of his life, what would the point be in telling him the truth now?
