That being said, he wouldn’t be opposed to the kind of excitement the WSB offers, but he’s not sure he would be able to tell Portia about the transition either – given how much the WSB wanted him to remain a covert agent. That begs the question: would he tell Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) about his new gig? He just might, especially given how much the new job leads him to relate to her and finally understand where she was coming from when she kept secrets from him that he once felt destroyed their marriage.
Ultimately, Curtis is going to find that the WSB agent who approached him was correct. Coming back from the operation in Greenland where he helped save the world from Victor Cassadine’s (Charles Shaughnessy) deadly pathogen is going to leave Curtis feeling like his normal life running a club is far from exciting or fulfilling.
When he comes on board as a WSB agent, Curtis will enjoy his new career choice enough that he’ll be itching to tell someone about it, but he won’t want to put his family at risk — and he also doesn’t feel like arguing with Portia over it, as he doesn’t believe she would support this change after hearing how much she didn’t enjoy her ex-husband, Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews), being a cop.
Curtis isn’t going to unload The Savoy, but taking the WSB job will mean he needs good cover. The club will continue to serve as that. However, his involvement with Selina Wu (Lydia Look) could become worrisome for Curtis if he doesn’t tie it up neatly and cut her off. We can reasonably expect she’s not going to allow that.
So when Curtis needs to dip out of the club, he just might leave it in Selina’s hands, informally, if they can come to an understanding about his new job. Of course, that could leave Selina itching to insert herself into Curtis’ world even more if she thinks his new position could give her some cover to get away with breaking a few more laws. All of the late nights at the club — where he won’t really be — and secret discussions with a known mobster are going to have Portia wondering what her estranged husband is up to.
In reality, Curtis’ new role is going to catapult him into a new world he’s not familiar with. Keeping secrets has never been his jam, but he might finally get it now in a way that he couldn’t understand before when it was Jordan keeping secrets from him.
This could lead Curtis to finally see Jordan’s life through her eyes, and he may be able to forgive her and move on. Meanwhile, forgiveness won’t come easily for Curtis when it comes to Portia, and the more that secrets build up between them, the more he might feel compelled to share the truth about his new life with his ex. The lines are getting more blurred with this love triangle in the weeks ahead. Keep checking back with us for more GH news and updates so you don’t miss a beat.
