GH Spoilers: Cody’s Paternity Lie Closely Resembles Sasha’s Past — Will he Learn From Her Mistake?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) will feel all shook up by Sasha Gilmore Corbin’s (Sofia Mattson) past as she becomes comfortable enough with him to share more about the person she used to be. When Sasha found out Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) birth mother, it brought on a flood of emotions that Cody won’t understand because he wasn’t around back when Sasha was pretending to be Nina’s long-lost daughter.

As Sasha opens up to Cody about the lies she told and how she and Nina still found their way back to each other, he might have a renewed sense of hope that all is not lost regarding his relationship with Mac Scorpio (John J. York).

Nothing warms Cody’s heart more than finding that someone he assumes is better than him is some way actually shares common ground with him that makes him feel more normal. In other words, hearing that Sasha has screwed up too gives Cody comfort that he’s not the worst person in Port Charles and might also be worthy of redemption.

Of course, whether or not he deserves a second chance with Mac is up to Mac, not Cody — much like it was Nina who had to green light the ability for Sasha to have a relationship with her again. Will he be able to know Mac as his father at some point, or must he settle for friendship with his own dad who has no idea Cody is his son?

Sasha may share with Cody that it was Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor), her late husband, who helped her turn her life around. He made her want to be good enough to be his wife and the mother to his child. Between him and their son, Liam Mike, Sasha found purpose — something she has struggled to hold onto since. She wants to believe there is more out there waiting for her, but Brando was her saving grace when he was still alive.

Cody can relate to Sasha’s plight. He was starting to feel the same way about Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) before she died far too soon. Cody wanted to be good enough for the likes of Britt, and it took him time to realize it wasn’t his social class, lack of education, past, or profession that put distance between him and Britt.

Rather, it was his poor intentions and lies that drove her away, and now he’s done the same to his father. Cody could see an opportunity to be honest and transparent with Sasha, and this could be the start of something — if he’s learned his lesson.
