GH Spoilers: Carolyn Reconsiders Her Efforts to Manipulate Esme, But Only For Lizzie

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease Carolyn Webber (Denise Crosby) just might double down on her efforts to convince Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) to give her another shot at being her mother. Carolyn does genuinely seem to want to do right by her daughter, and Elizabeth appreciates that she was willing to rat Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) out and tell her why she really came to Port Charles.

She was there because she was concerned for her daughter’s wellbeing, and that’s the only reason she’s stuck around this long, too. When it becomes apparent that there is still one way Carolyn can help Elizabeth, will she be willing to do it?

Esme’s memories are still lurking behind the trauma in her mind that is keeping them suppressed. At any moment, she could remember just one thing that triggers a cascade of memories to come flooding back into the forefront of her mind.

With the stress and panic of that moment breathing down Elizabeth’s neck, she just might be desperate enough to ask her mother to do something she never would have imagined she’d be in favor of. Elizabeth has never been a big fan of being in a fish bowl or waiting for the other shoe to fall. She’s concerned with each passing moment that she won’t be able to withstand the anxiety much longer of knowing that Esme could do her in at any time.

Furthermore, she isn’t sure she wants to live this way, and it’s reminding her all too much of the time she spent looking over her shoulder after Peter August (Wes Ramsey) turned out not to be as dead and on ice as she thought. When Elizabeth realizes the walls are closing in on her, she may be desperate enough to accept her mother’s help — but she’s going to have to ask for it first. Carolyn probably wouldn’t hesitate to jump in and help her daughter in her time of need, but she certainly isn’t going to offer to do the one thing she knows decimated her relationship with Elizabeth in the first place.
