GH Spoilers: Carly Finds Comfort In An Unlikely Place As Austin’s Arms Are Wide Open

General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) are not getting back together. This is going to come as a big blow to Carly, who can’t seem to hold onto anything that matters to her anymore. First, she lost Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) — her best friend and the husband she fell in love with just before Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) returned and blew her new life to bits.

Speaking of Sonny, she lost him too — to her worst enemy, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros). She went on to lose her half of The Metro Court to Nina as well, and now she may lose Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) due to her lies about Nina being Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) mother, despite his claims that he’ll get over it in time. Now, she’s going to lose Drew, too, but someone else might be there to help her pick up the pieces of her shattered heart.

Ever since Carly told Drew the truth and they raced to the hospital to check on Willow, life has been moving at the pace of molasses. Carly would love to just jump ahead and move past all of this. She is grateful to Michael for not completely icing her out, and to Willow for forgiving her. Still, the person she really needs in her corner right now is Drew, and he’s about to tell her he can’t be there anymore. This will come as a shock since he hasn’t thrown her under the bus this whole time and has seemed to want to protect her from Sonny and Michael throughout it all. But just because Drew doesn’t want to see Carly suffer doesn’t mean he can trust her anymore.

As Carly continues to pace the halls of the hospital and process her own grief in the wake of her break-up from Drew, she just might find herself connecting with someone else going through something similar. Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) is still dealing with his break-up from Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms), and he knows a thing or two about telling lies and sabotaging his own relationship for his own selfish interests. When Carly comes clean to Austin about what she’s done, she’ll find it refreshing that he’s so understanding and seems to give her a pass. Carly is known for surrounding herself with people who don’t hold her accountable. Is Austin the next Drew or Jason?

Rumor has it Austin and Carly are headed for a hook-up. Despite how much he seems to enjoy flirting with a wide variety of women, Austin is more focused on staying single since his shady cousin, Mason (Nathanyael Grey), made it clear he plans to target Maxie’s daughter, Georgie Spinelli (Lily Fisher). Austin knows it’s not safe for him to be coupled up with anyone as long as Mason is keeping tabs on his life and who matters to him, but that doesn’t mean he can’t have fun with Carly in the process as they distract one another from their messy and complicated lives.
