Having lied to Drew early on about Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) being Willow’s birth mother, she won’t have much recourse for solving this problem without humbling herself and coming clean. However, she knows what kind of damage that could do. She could lose Drew, Willow, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), and more if they ever find out what she did. How will she get herself out of this mess?
The truth is, not only can Drew not be the one to figure out that Nina is Willow’s mother, but Willow can never know or Drew will come to realize Carly knew all along. There isn’t a way around this lie except to cover it up so deeply that no one ever figures out what Carly has done — even if the price her family has to pay is with Willow’s life. This is a new low for Carly, who has historically been a liar and put herself first often, but usually not where her kids were concerned. With Willow’s life hanging in the balance, Carly sees no way to hold onto her family if she tells the truth, and she’s not about to hand her loved ones over to the likes of Nina.
Given that Carly just doesn’t want anyone to find out who Willow’s birth mother is, she may decide to work tirelessly to track down Willow’s birth father’s family. While the commune leader Josiah’s name keeps coming into play, Carly has the leg up by already knowing that Silas Clay (Michael Easton) is most likely Willow’s birth father, because Harmony Miller (Inga Cadranel) told Carly that Willow was Nelle Benson Jerome’s (Chloe Lanier) twin sister. Armed with this information, Carly could try to pursue finding a member of Silas’ family, though it won’t be easy. The only other person Carly personally knew who was related to Silas was his other daughter, Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin), who is also deceased. If Carly turns up no leads with Silas’ relatives, she may need to move on to Plan B.
Carly could try to broker a deal with Nina, but she would have to be pretty smooth to pull it off. We’ve seen how irritated Willow is by Nina. She wants nothing to do with her. It might be possible for Carly to convince everyone to get tested for Willow’s sake, knowing that Nina will be a match. When she is, she could plead with Nina to keep it a secret so that Willow won’t balk at accepting the donation from her.
This might make Nina feel like she has a certain bond with Carly, as well as a possible way back into Michael Corinthos’ (Chad Duell) and Willow’s good graces someday when Willow is in a better place to handle the truth. However, Carly’s real motive would be to make sure Drew never found out the connection so that he wouldn’t put two and two together on his own. Do you think Carly and Nina could pull this off if Nina insisted on the donation being anonymous? Let us know, and stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers just ahead.
