Rumor has it Cam has been cozying up to Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) from a distance. How is Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) going to take the news that Cam is dating Esme? In a weird twist, she just might embrace it as a chance for her to redeem herself with Esme, and can anyone really feign being surprised that Cam would fall for a young single mom?

The going away party for Cam was meant to be an intimate affair, just family and closest friends. However, when Cam arrived with Esme and her baby, it was a surprise to everyone. Maybe Cam was preparing everyone — himself included — for a future filled with new beginnings. As Cam prepares to return home from school, it’s possible that he may have kept in touch with Esme.

Despite their rocky past, Cam is known for his forgiving nature, and Esme might have found that he actually listens to her and refrains from judging. The night of the party, Esme and Cam’s paths crossed in a moment of desperation. Esme’s instincts were telling her to take her baby and head for the nearest bus station. Still, she knew that she didn’t have the means to do so. At that moment, she looked to Cam for hope, and he gave it to her. The rest, as they say, is history.

Despite harboring valid reasons to dislike her, Cam never let his emotions cloud his judgment. His ability to remain unbiased may be a refreshing change of pace for Esme, who has grown accustomed to dealing with people who are quick to pass judgment without taking the time to understand her.

Although Esme appreciates Cam’s willingness to give her a chance, she might feel guilty for dragging him and Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) into her mess. She knows that their friendship — or whatever it is — could turn into more, but it could also turn into a colossal mess that Josslyn ‘Joss’ Jacks (Edem McCoy), Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), and especially Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) do not approve of.

Are Cam’s friends really going to be off the mark having concerns about him being involved with Esme? The Esme they have all come to know always operates by an agenda.
