GH Spoilers: Austin Gatlin Holt Is Out — Because Todd Manning Is In?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers report Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) is dead, and he’s not coming back to life — but that doesn’t mean Howarth is out at GH for good.

The fans love this guy, hence his decades-long career across multiple soap operas. But Austin’s time had truly run out.

The well of stories for his character was running dry, and at least we can say he died a moderate good guy who did seem to want to protect Ava Jerome (Maura West).

Now, rumor has it Austin had to go because GH saw such a fabulous opportunity when Blair Cramer (Kassie DePaiva) came to town. Yes, we’re going there.

Austin’s storyline couldn’t have grown more stale. First, he was a heroic doctor who supported Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storm) in labor on the bed of a forest.

Then he was a transplant, moving into Port Chuck but keeping that shady place in Pautauk just in case.

Then he was a Quartermaine — and out for money like all of them. He backed off on the monetary demands just to have access to the Q family, but he doesn’t actually spend time with them, apart from that one holiday.

Blair had a short two-day storyline when she came back to Port Chuck — and OG ABC daytime soap fans were over the moon to see the One Life to Live character in action. She was missing just one thing — a man.

There was no David Vickers (Tuc Watkins). There was no Todd Manning (Roger Howarth). Well, scratch that. Rumor has it there’s about to be.

Word on the street is Blair is going to be circling back around Port Charles — and so is Todd, who is finally allowed back by that name. Fans are clamoring for these two to share on-screen time again.

Their backstage photo-op together when Blair was at GH last time blew fans out of the water. They’re dying for more and want to see Toff and Blair again. Let’s go, GH.
