GH Spoilers: Austin Confesses To Killing Nikolas, But Why?

General Hospital Spoilers reveal Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) will confess to killing Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss), and it’s going to send Ava Jerome Cassadine’s (Maura West) head spinning. Ava will feel wracked with guilt as she is held hostage at gunpoint and unable to help her new friend in his time of need. Austin has just been hooked by Heather Webber (Alley Mills), and there’s no telling whether he might bleed out or suffer from the same fatal poisoning Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor), and others have. What is Austin’s motive in confessing though, and why would he taint his own legacy that way?

According to General Hospital spoilers, Austin is grateful to Ava for being a friend to him, even if their relationship is relatively new. They clicked quickly and he could tell she just got him and understood his complicated family background, having one of her own she doesn’t shy away from talking about. When Austin and his cousin, Mason (Nathanyael Grey), were caught up bickering, Ava knew how to lay it down so that Mason backed off. No one has ever come to Austin’s defense in that way before, and it felt nice. Now, he wants to repay the favor the best way he knows how to — by absolving Ava of any responsibility for Nikolas’ death.

GH Spoilers Hint Austin Gatlin Holt Did Kill Nikolas Cassadine

The most practical reason Austin would confess to killing Nikolas is because he actually did do it. When Ava dragged Nikolas out to the stables, she wasn’t sure that he was actually dead. She was still hoping he was just knocked unconscious and would soon come to. It was Austin who crept up on her and caught her moving a would-be corpse red-handed. When Ava woke up the next day in bed after an apparent good night of sleep, she confirmed by asking Austin if Nikolas was dead and the doc said he was. However, this is Port Charles and nothing is ever that straightforward. It’s possible that Austin did him in after Ava went to bed and has let her think she did it.

Why come clean now? It’s easy. Austin thinks he’s on his way out and he was to relieve his own guilt while taking one for the team. Ava has a daughter to look after. The last thing she needs is jail time because she got carried away protecting her child from a man who made it clear he intended to harm her.

Still, when Austin confesses, Ava is going to be stunned and might insist that he take it back. She knows him and doesn’t believe he would do something like that. The real problems might arise if Austin does not die. Just because he was hooked doesn’t mean Heather had time to lace the hook with the venom she used to take the others out.
