The biggest surprise might not be the weight of the rock that Sam comes home with on her hand, but the weight of the burden she’ll bear when she discovers who the man she’s going to marry really is. The months ahead are shaping up to be more turbulent than their flight to Europe; Sam and Dante better buckle up.
When Sam and Dante head to London to look for Maggie Fitzgerald, they will be hopeful that it will lead to a break in Esme Prince’s (Avery Kristen Pohl) case. Dante has been trying to crack this case for months, and he was previously hesitant about letting Sam help him with it. However, now that she’s back on the case, they’re open to working together.
This might become a bit of a sticky situation when Sam’s mom, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn), intervenes though. Alexis would love to assist, but there’s always a concern that she wants a scoop for The Invader, and that’s not a risk Dante is willing to take by letting Alexis publish what they know about The Hook. She could not h the whole investigation. Can he trust Sam to keep quiet about what she digs up on Esme’s nanny?
The real test for Sam and Dante’s relationship isn’t going to be how well Sam can keep a secret from her mom. Instead, she just might feel betrayed and offended when it turns out Dante is the one who has been keeping secrets. His checkered past is something he doesn’t talk about outside of hush conversations with his childhood pal, Cody Bell (Josh Kelly).
Dante has been worried the truth would come out ever since Cody came to Port Charles. When it does, Sam will feel like she doesn’t even know the man she’s set to marry.
Dante and Sam could end up taking a break from their relationship while she sorts through her feelings about his lies. Yes; lying by omission is still a lie in Sam’s book. It remains to be seen what will bother her the most: what Dante did all those years ago, how he handled it, or that he’s been lying to her about it.
When Sam is down on her luck soon and feeling the weight of falling from fiancé status to wondering where her life is headed and if Dante will be in it, she just might stumble upon another troubled soul who is feeling much the same way — Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison). It won’t take much for these troubled exes to commiserate and wallow enough to find themselves seeking comfort in each other’s arms. Where will that leave them with Dante and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) though? Stay tuned for more General Hospital news and spoilers to find out.
