GH John J. York Gives Fans Health Update and Positive News

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that today John J. York (Mac Scorpio) gave his fans an early Christmas present when he posted a health update to X.

York is on a medical leave from the ABC soap as he undergoes a steam cell transplant in his fight against several conditions: two blood and bone marrow cancers, myelodysplastic syndrome and multiple smoldering myeloma.

The handsome and talented actor appeared in a red t-shirt, gray jacket, and brown glasses in his video update.

“It’s me and I’m checking in” he began, then showed his sense of humor by referring to his hair loss: “I know what you’re thinking: You’re thinking, why did Mac shave his beard?”

York added “I wanted to give you a little update as to how things were going along. They’re actually going along very well. I’m still in the middle stages of everything. I have a long road ahead, but the test results are looking good. I’m feeling really good.”

York appears in good spirits in the video and he looks fantastic.

According to the popular actor he “may be back on the show late spring, early summer.”

Yesterday his onscreen wife Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) was heard to say that Mac is in Argentina on urgent business.

York went on to thank his fans “so very much for all your notes and messages of support, encouragement, all the love you’ve been sending my way. I feel your hugs every day and I thank you very much for that.”

He ended on a positive note by saying “One day at a time, we’re gonna take care of this. In the meantime, I want you all to have a very, very, very merry Christmas with your family and friends, your loved ones. I wish you all a very healthy, happy and prosperous New Year.”

Then he rubbed his head and said “And for luck! How about some luck? Get some luck in there.”
