In a tragic turn of events, Maurice Benard (GH Sonny Corinthos) recently revealed on his social media channels that his former GH colleague and friend actor Tyler Christopher passed away the morning of October 31st at the age of 50.

Benard noted that Mr. Christopher passed away due to a cardiac event in his San Diego apartment.

Tyler Christopher Was On The Mend

Sadly, Christopher had had a rough couple of years but looked like he was on a path toward healing.

He was in the news this past May, arrested for public intoxication when the police found him asleep at an American Airlines terminal at the Burbank airport after missing his flight.

He was also arrested in November 2019 in Martinsville, Morgan County, Indiana for public intoxication.

In the summer of this year some months after his arrest, Bloomberg Law spotlighted him in a series they conducted on guardianship. According to Mr. Christopher, his sister Susan Asmo Baker, misused his funds when he was placed under her guardian in January 2020 while he was in rehab.

Benard notes in his social media announcement that Tyler was a truly talent person who lit up the screen in every scene he was in.

He also was a mental health and substance use treatment advocate who shared his own struggles in an effort to help others.

Just this past summer, both Christopher and Benard posted goat therapy pics on their social media accounts, promoting its benefits. It seemed as if Tyler was working hard to get back on his feet.
