General Hospital fans are hating on Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr). Her latest stunt to pull her daughter Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) away from Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) is just the latest in a long line of bad behavior.
Portia appears to be a caring doctor and mom, but she has been secretive and manipulative since she came to Port Charles. Her unkindness dates back to before Trina was even born.
Portia is not evil like Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) or Peter August (Wes Ramsey), but she does what it takes to get what she wants and doesn’t seem to care who she hurts in the process. Plus, she does it all looking sweet and innocent.
Dr. Robinson came to Port Charles as Trina’s mom. Her dad was Marcus Taggert (Real Andrews). It was soon revealed that, years earlier, she had an affair with Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) while married to Taggert.
Curtis did not know that his girlfriend was married. He ended the relationship when he discovered the truth. The two didn’t see each other again until she arrived in Port Charles. She and Taggert were divorced and had a teenage daughter.
Curtis was concerned that he may be Trina’s dad. He point blankly asked Portia, and she vehemently denied it.
Dr. Robinson was lying.
Portia Hurt Curtis And Taggert
Portia’s big lie came back to bite her.
She always knew that Curtis might be Trina’s bio dad. Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) figured out the truth. She could have run to Curtis with the information but she didn’t.
She encouraged Portia to tell her fiance herself. Of course, Dr. Robinson didn’t do that because she didn’t want to lose the man she always loved and finally got.
The entire truth came out the night of their wedding and she almost lost her daughter and her brand-new husband. Who could blame them? She lied for 20 years, depriving Curtis and Trina of a relationship.
When the results came back that Curtis was the bio-dad, Taggert was distraught. The daughter that he loved and raised wasn’t really his. Dr. Robinson altered the lives of three people she loved for her own selfish reasons.
You would think Portia would learn her lesson. It took a while, but she and Curtis were on their way back to each other and Trina was also beginning to forgive her mom.
Dr. Robinson was never a fan of Trina’s boyfriend, Spencer. He hurt Trina when they first met and his family is quite dangerous. Any mom can understand her protective instincts.
But Trina loves Spencer and he has become a better person for her. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for her.
Portia doesn’t see that and is back to her conniving ways to keep her daughter away from her boyfriend. She is again lying and manipulating to get what she wants.
It won’t last long. Trina is smart and will soon figure out what her mom is up to.
Maybe Portia should spend a little less time on her daughter’s love life and concentrate on her own.
