The couple was very much in love and believed this was their happily ever after. But that all changed when both Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) and Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) entered the picture.
Jordan had a checkered past with both villain Cyrus and her ex-partner Marcus Taggert (Real Andrews). Taggert faked his death to help capture Cyrus and, while Jordan knew about it, she didn’t share the information with her husband. The commissioner kept other secrets regarding the case.
For Curtis, this was unforgivable. He claimed that he did not want to be married to someone who kept things from him, and he left his wife. Was that really the reason he divorced Jordan or did it have something to do with Portia?
Curtis and Portia had a past. When she was married to Marcus, she had an affair with Curtis. He didn’t know she was married and ended things when he discovered the truth.
Jordan’s husband was conveniently unable to forgive her when Portia came to town. It wasn’t long after he left his wife that Curtis began a relationship with his ex.
The commissioner never got over Curtis. She accepted the divorce and his new relationship even though she was clearly still in love with him. She even befriended her ex’s new love. The whole time, Curtis was constantly getting angry and blaming Jordan anytime something didn’t go his way. Gaslighting at its finest.
Curtis then discovered that his new love was lying to him for years. Her daughter Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) was really his biological daughter, not Taggert’s. Curtis, who will not accept lying whatsoever, left Portia, kissed Jordan, and went back to Portia.
Curtis took advantage of Jordan’s feelings when he ran to her after he learned the truth about Trina. He gave her false hope that they had a chance and then didn’t inform her when he moved back in with Portia. It was the wrong thing to do to both women.
Now he is once again playing the blame game because Portia learned about the kiss. He somehow feels it is ok to storm into Jordan’s place of work and accuse her of telling Portia, which is what he should have done himself. His marriage issues should not be her problem.
Enter Zeke Robinson (Gavin Houston), Portia’s brother, who spent a night with Jordan before either of them knew who the other was. He was the one who blabbed to his sister.
Curtis has figured out what happened between his brother-in-law and his ex and does not seem happy about it. Too bad Curtis. You cannot have both women fawning over you.
Curtis has changed over the last few years and is pretty unlikable. It is time for the character to step up. Either forgive Portia and begin a marriage, or leave her if he cannot get over it. Either way, it’s time to leave Jordan alone.
Stay tuned to General Hospital to see if Curtis Ashford will become likable again.
