For decades, it’s a General Hospital Thanksgiving tradition that something goes wrong with the Quartermaine turkey and they are forced to order a pizza. If it doesn’t happen, it’s not GH and it’s not the Qs.
General Hospital Spoilers – A Twist On GH This Year
The question always is — how will the Q turkey get ruined? Since Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) joined the clan, she insists each year that it won’t happen again and everyone will eat both her lasagne and her turkey just as tradition dictates.
However, it never works and Olivia is usually reduced to tears when the rest of the family is resigned to it all. However, this year was a bit different. The Qs actually did have a turkey, but it was a live one.
General Hospital spoilers show Olivia clearly didn’t understand French when she ordered a turkey from a local farm and it came alive and kicking, ready to invade Monica Quartermaine’s (Leslie Charleson) house. At least Monica wasn’t around to see it this year.
When Leo Quartermaine (Easton Rocket Sweda) let the turkey out of its cage, all hell broke loose as it wandered the house and pecked away at things. It was an unexpected turn of events that send the Q family and friends out back to just watch the damage that was happening inside through a window.
GH Spoilers – The Turkey Stole The Show
According to Chad Duell, who plays Michael Quartermaine Corinthos, it was quite a day on set when the turkey was there.
“Those things are bigger than you think,” Duell said in the January 9, 2023, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “I didn’t have much interaction with him, but having a huge turkey on set was a lot of fun. You can kind of get caught up in the machine… and then when you have a live animal like the turkey or the horse, it changes things up and gets you out of your regular routine.”
Duell said he was looking forward to seeing how the Qs would have a screwed-up Thanksgiving this year and the writers did not disappoint. “I didn’t see it coming,” he admitted.
How will turkey time in the Q house be ruined in 2023? Stay tuned to General Hospital all year to find out.
