Little did he know that the one responsible for it all was Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros. This whole time, Ned has been taking the blame for something he did not do, but now the tables have turned. He has the upper hand, thanks to overhearing Nina’s conversation with her attorney, Martin ‘Marty’ Grey (Michael E. Knight). Will Ned use this information to his — or Carly’s — advantage, or will he let the truth speak for itself?
Well, that will largely depend on just how much he remembers when he wakes up from the sudden coma he fell into after taking a spill at the Metro Court pool. We hope Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) and Nina have good insurance!
Nina’s dirty little secret is out, and Ned is out of the dog house, too. Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) is back on his side, and she wants to help him figure out who really turned Drew and Carly in to boot!
If Ned has any memory of the events leading up to his accident when he comes to, he could run back to his wife and spill the details of Nina’s entanglement in this mess, and he might. But knowing him, he’s not likely to tell anyone else just yet, and he would definitely swear Olivia to secrecy — noting they could use this to get Nina to give up her stake in the business.
Ned is a sharp businessman and it’ll dawn on him almost immediately that he can leverage what he knows against Nina to get what he wants more than he longs to clear his name.
Ned could go to great lengths to ensure that Marty doesn’t spill the beans to the feds under the mountain pressure they’re placing on him. Why help Nina, though? She’ll be wondering that, but he’ll make the rest of his demands soon enough.
Of course, this is idealistic, if Ned can pull it off. But right now, Ned is in the hospital in critical condition. He’s in a coma and the staff have no way of knowing when he will wake up, or if he will for sure at all.
This isn’t good news for Drew — who is already on his way to his own cell — or Carly, but Nina will surely delight in knowing she has bought herself more time.
It’s fair to note that Nina isn’t a total monster, and she’ll probably be riddled with guilt, knowing Ned never would have slipped if he hadn’t been rushing to tell Drew the truth about her. But will she blame herself? Nah!
Ned has learned a thing or two from his mother, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot). Perseverance is one of them. Rumor has it this guy is going to come out on top and make a full recovery — eventually.
Still, there is always a price with Ned, and he will come to collect. When he remembers how he ended up in that hospital bed, robbed of possible months of his life, he’s not going to hold back on seeing to it that justice is served.
Will Nina be willing to part ways with her new business venture if she thinks it will secure her secret and let her hold onto Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen)? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers just ahead.
