General Hospital (GH) spoilers and updates for Tuesday, September 5 tease truth, lies and takedowns! Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) demands the truth, Austin Gatlin-Holt’s (Roger Howarth) hiding lies, and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is the victim of a takedown!
After Sonny’s arrest by the FBI, Laura demands the truth from Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell). After Carly got a tip while working at Kelly’s from a customer, she tried to warn Sonny of the raid but he didn’t answer his phone.
She did reach Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) who escaped in time. Considering Michael worked the better part of two years to trap Sonny in something that would put him in Federal prison, of course Carly’s suspicious.
Carly tells Michael he needs to tell her the truth, right now! Michael will convince his mother he didn’t do it.
At what appears to be his house in Pautauk, Austin’s not only been hiding lies, he’s been hiding a very much alive Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss)! Austin has been playing along with a narrative that Ava Jerome (Maura West) killed Nikolas and his body disappeared.
Nikolas may be preferring to let Austin hide him, waiting for the right time to reappear-Austin asks, when it is, what is Nikolas going to do? One of two things is true; either Nikolas is in on it and lying and playing dead, or he has amnesia in spite of wearing his Cassadine ring. If he’s playing dead again, he’d better have a very good excuse because even his mother will hate him!
As Carly and Michael talk about who may have turned Sonny in, Dex arrives shortly before Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy). With all her hate of Sonny and telling Carly and Michael about it, as well as Dex, she’s the prime suspect. Josslyn manages to convince the three that she didn’t turn Sonny into the Feds.
The three of them will continue to try and figure out who turned Sonny in, but all Dex can come up with is someone found the flash drive he threw away. Even that doesn’t make sense, considering how many months have passed.
Even Dante Falconeri (Dominic Falconeri) seems to be blindsided as he talks to Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco). He seems saddened and shocked as all he can utter is “my God.” There are two situations that this could relate to – his reaction to his father being taken down and to Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) being in such rough shape.
If he’s talking about Sonny’s takedown, he too might think that Michael turned their father in, he had been trying to for months.
Meanwhile, at Pentonville, the likely person behind Sonny’s takedown toys with Drew Cain (Jeff Kober). Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) tells Drew he’s no longer under Sonny’s protection.
How else would he know that if he wasn’t the one that set Sonny up, turning the faked Pikeman intel into the FBI-albeit through the warden.Drew is in a towel and Cyrus has stepped into the showers fully clothed. Who’s going to protect Drew from prison perverts, Cyrus?
Post-arrest, Sonny sits in an FBI interrogation room as their interrogators try to wear him down into a confession. Sonny and the agents will sit there overnight at least, but Sonny won’t crack.
It’s not Sonny’s first rodeo being interrogated and suspected of crimes, and he knows what to do. He also knows what not to do and won’t talk to anyone without his attorney present!
